Nebraska is showing signs of improving, Pac-12 quarterbacks are making their way through concussion protocol, a shootout is looming in Lubbock and a trap game is taking place in Starksville. There’s plenty of action this week, so let’s take a look at college football’s biggest spread movements.
Nebraska at Ohio State, Noon Fox
Open: -21 Ohio State
Current: -17.5 Ohio State
While the first season under Scott Frost hasn’t gone according to plan in Nebraska, the Cornhuskers have played some good football as of late.
Back-to-back blowout home wins against Bethune-Cookman and Minnesota, with a close road overtime loss to a pretty good Northwestern team preceding the wins, shows Nebraska is improving.

Now the Cornhuskers are welcoming in Ohio State and the fans and team are going to get up for this one. Watch for Nebraska to keep this close in the first half only for the Buckeyes to run away early in the second second half.
Louisiana Tech at Mississippi State, 7:30 p.m. SEC Network
Open: -20.5 Miss State
Current: -24 Miss State
Louisiana Tech comes in on three-game winning streak, which could have been the cause of the -20.5 spread to start the week, but Mississippi State is coming off a strong win against against Texas A&M and dominated Auburn early in October.
However, Mississippi State needs to be aware of the trap game with Alabama coming up.
Oklahoma at Texas Tech, 8 p.m. ABC
Open: -10.5 Oklahoma
Current: -13.5 Oklahoma
At 5-3, Texas Tech has had a pretty good season and in losses to West Virginia and Iowa State, the Red Raiders have kept things close with single digit losses.
But this Oklahoma offense is rolling with back-to-back 50-plus point games after losing to Texas a few weeks ago.
Texas Tech will score, which is the cause of the -10.5 spread to open, but -13.5 is probably more like it with the way Kyler Murray and the Sooners are going.
UCLA at Oregon, 7:30 p.m. Fox
Open: -13 Oregon
Current: -10 Oregon
Oregon opened this week at -13 favorites against UCLA, but there are some questions around who will be under center for the Ducks.
Quarterback Justin Herbert is probable, but he’s in concussion protocol and that can be a bit trickier to return from than other injuries.
With the Bruins at 2-6 this season, perhaps Oregon feels a little more comfortable with keeping Herbert on the sidelines for an extra week, especially with a game against Utah coming up.
USC at Oregon State, 10 p.m. FS1
Open: -14 USC
Current: -16.5 USC
Speaking of PAC-12 quarterbacks in concussion protocol, it looks like USC’s signal caller JT Daniels will be back under center, thus moving the line from -14 against Oregon State to -16.5.
With Daniels out against Arizona State and a good chunk of the Utah game, the Trojans are 0-2, so Daniels back in the mix is a welcome to the USC faithful.
