Columbia Lions – Dartmouth Big Green Preview – 01.29.2016

Ivy League foes will collide when the Dartmouth Big Green (7-9) face off against the Columbia Lions (13-6) at Edward Leede Arena. Action begins at 7:00 pm ET on Friday, Jan. 29.

The Big Green enter this game hoping for similar success after topping Harvard 63-50 in their last matchup. Evan Boudreaux played a pivotal role, recording his fifth double-double of the season with 18 points and 13 rebounds. The Lions, meanwhile, are coming off a 79-68 win against Cornell in their last game. Luke Petrasek had a good game for Columbia, registering 16 points, eight rebounds, and one block.

Boudreaux has taken his game to another level over the last five games for the Big Green. During that stretch, he has averaged 20.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.0 three-pointer.

Columbia is a slim two-point favorite over Dartmouth. The Over/Under (O/U) is sitting at 139 points for this matchup. The Big Green have gone 7-9 Straight Up (SU) and 3-4 Against The Spread (ATS).

Over on the other bench, the Lions have records of 4-5 ATS and 13-6 SU. The Lions convert their three-pointers at a high percentage, ranking 38th in the nation at .384.

This game marks the season’s first head-to-head clash between these conference foes. Their previous game was a Big Green victory, but the win was not enough for them to overtake Columbia in their recent head-to-head series. Their record is now 4-6 SU over the last few meetings. With a 7-3 record, the Big Green have the advantage ATS. Columbia held the edge in field goals, rebounds, and three-pointers once, while Dartmouth was never able to do so in their most recent five games.

Predictions: SU Winner – Colum, ATS Winner – Colum, O/U – Over
