There were two NHL playoff games on Saturday, and both teams that were down 1-0 have now evened their series. The Dallas Stars jumped on the St. Louis Blues in the first period, and Ben Bishop closed the door to give the Stars a 4-2 win in Game 2. In the late game, Columbus’ Matt Duchene scored in the second overtime to give the Blue Jackets the win over Boston. Let’s look more at those games and some other stories below.

Matt Duchene collected some loose change in the second overtime to give Columbus a series-evening 3-2 win. Duchene has been incredible for Columbus in these playoffs with four goals and eight assists in six games. The series shifts to Columbus for Game 3 on Tuesday.

The Dallas Stars are in high spirits after their series-tying 4-2 win over St. Louis in Game 2. Roope Hintz led the way with two goals and provided the nifty little assist above. The series will now shift back to Dallas for Game 3 on Monday.

Ottawa is still looking for a new head coach after finishing with the worst record in the league this season. The Senators are reportedly very interested in Toronto’s D.J. Smith, and the Maple Leafs have given him permission to interview with the team.

The three finalists for the Jack Adams Award have been announced. Once again, it’s a little humorous to see Tampa Bay represented here after a historic playoff collapse, but Jon Cooper has to get some consideration for the award as the coach of a record-setting team. Craig Berube and Barry Trotz are the other two finalists.

The NHL has also announced the three finalists for the league’s Rookie of the Year award. Jordan Binnington might be the favorite after helping spark an incredible turnaround in St. Louis’ fortunes, and he was the only one of the three finalists to lead his team to the playoffs.
