Tanner Lee and the Tulane Green Wave battle Bryant Shirreffs and the Connecticut Huskies in a game that will feature two of the best players in the AAC. It’s gone from bad to worse for Connecticut (4-5) this season, with the team dropping two straight. The game kicks off Saturday, Nov 7 at 4:00 p.m. ET and will be shown on ESNN.
In last week’s matchup, Tulane got blown out by Memphis 41-13. Dontrell Hilliard had a huge game running the ball in the loss, rushing 19 times for 97 yards and two TDs. Teddy Veal put up 53 receiving yards on two catches. Connecticut is hoping for another victory like last week’s performance, when it defeated East Carolina 31-13. Arkeel Newsome had a great game running the ball for the Huskies, rushing 25 times for 179 yards and two TDs.
This week’s matchup between the Green Wave and Huskies has even odds and the Over/Under (O/U) is currently not available.
Sitting at 2-6 Straight Up (SU) and 4-4 Against The Spread (ATS), the Green Wave will look to improve heading into Week 10. In their five most recent matchups, the Green Wave went 1-4 SU and 3-2 ATS. During their last five games, the Green Wave have done a better job of keeping their opponents from running the ball. They gave up an average of 136.4 rushing yards over that period of time, less than their 177.5 season average. A strong pass rush will help the Green Wave win this game. That may not be too difficult with the Huskies ranking 123rd in sacks allowed with 3.3 per game.
Over on the other sideline, the Huskies head into Week 10 with records of 4-5 for both ATS and SU. Over their last five games, the Huskies have a SU and ATS record of 2-3 for those betting with them. Connecticut, only allowing 10.8 yards per pass, has a good chance of shutting down its competitor’s aerial offense. Few teams have been worse than Tulane when it comes to penalties. This season, the Green Wave have earned 69 penalty yards per game.
Predictions: SU Winner – Connecticut, ATS Winner – Connecticut
