Connecticut Huskies vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricane ATS Prediction

The Huskies are trying to rebound after their 74-72 loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats in their last outing. Getting to the free throw line was one of Cincinnati’s biggest strengths. They made 38 trips to the line, while Connecticut went just 16 times. Connecticut’s Christian Vital played well, putting up 16 points and 10 rebounds.

In the Golden Hurricane’s last game, they were blown out by the SMU Mustangs, 77-57. SMU’s rebounding was their biggest advantage. The Mustangs had more offensive rebounds (15 vs. seven), defensive rebounds (29 vs. 22) and total rebounds (44 vs. 29). With 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting, Jeriah Horne was Tulsa’s leading scorer.

After the Golden Hurricane won both matchups against the Huskies last season, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. In the last contest, Tulsa won 73-71. Tulsa had a much better effective field goal percentage (0.670 vs. 0.492). Connecticut, on the other hand, had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (38.5 vs. 23.1).

The physical Tulsa offense seems poised to dominate from the free throw line. The Golden Hurricane rank seventh in the nation with a free throw attempt (FTA) rate of 0.319, while Connecticut ranks 335th in FTA rate allowed (0.312).
