Indeed – one more time – the Dallas Cowboys will circle the wagons. Notably on Sunday the Cowboys defeated the Los Angeles Rams in Dallas 44-21. While the game was never close, it started off with something that made mainstream headlines.
Moreover, the Cowboys messed up the opening coin toss.

Still, Dallas was able to ride momentum and a few big plays from Dak Prescott and Zeke Elliott into an easy victory.
Therefore, in the wake of the victory, what did owner Jerry Jones have to say about his head coach? Remember, Dallas is now 7-7 and will play at Philadelphia next week in what likely decides their division champion.
Undeniably, the owner didn’t sound overjoyed at Dallas’ position in the wake of a game he probably expected to win. Here’s the quote from Jon Machota who covers Dallas for The Athletic.
Jerry Jones on Jason Garrett: "Nothing I'd like more than to ride his coattail into a fairy tale here."

More less, Jones sounds like he’s not expecting big things. However if the Cowboys luck into a run here, he will take it.
“There is nothing I would like more than to ride his [Jason Garrett] coattail into a fairytale here”.
Now how about that one? While it probably reads worse than it sounded to get as a sound byte, clearly the owner seems disenchanted with Garrett.
To be fair, who could blame him? Over the course of the Garrett era in Dallas, there have been a number of ‘big’ victories like the one they recorded Sunday against the Rams. Then, Dallas typically comes out the next week and looks like a completely different team.
No one should be surprised if the Eagles win next week, and Dallas either looks flat or loses a close game due to miscues that come down to coaching or a play call or two without any guts behind it.
Truly, that is why Dallas is where they are right now. Just good enough to tease or deceive for a week, but with no real substance or long-term big promise. If the fairytale Jones speaks of doesn’t arrive, Garrett will probably be dismissed after Dallas’ final game.
