Cowboys News: Jerry Jones Thought The 2019 Cowboys Would Be Better

On Monday Night Football, we all get the gift of the Dallas Cowboys. Obviously, it’s always worth turning the television on if it’s Jerry Jones’ boys on the national stage.

The Cowboys get the gift of the New York Giants, which means as about six-point favorites; they should improve to 5-3. Still, nothing is ever easy in Dallas. And Jerry Jones is talking about how expectations haven’t been met yet in 2019. Namely, he thought that the team would be better than this.

Jones said to 105.3 The Fan in Dallas:

“Let’s just say that I thought we’d be better than this,” he said bluntly. “I would rather be here at 4-3 with other positives going right for us—injury being the principal one. I’d rather get here like that than I had with one more win.”

Without question, the Cowboys have had an up and down season. And since the mid to late 90’s, that really been Dallas Cowboys football. It’s been up and down play – relevancy without a doubt – but not consistency. One week they lose to the New York Jets, and the next they blow out the Philadelphia Eagles.

You never know which Cowboys team will show up, and the owner’s quotes seem to echo that.

“I think that we have the potential,” he said. “I don’t think the way that we have played so far will get us there, on balance—the good and the bad.”

On Monday night in New York, which team will we get? If I had to guess, the Cowboys win this game; but only by a few points and maybe even a last-minute field goal. It just seems like Dallas lets their opponent keep it closer than they should, especially if it’s an opponent that they should put away easily.

Remember, Dallas is fresh off the bye which should only help. But I still have that feeling they make Monday Night Football interesting with the division rivals.
