On Thanksgiving morning, the NFL on FOX went live with their pregame show during the morning hours. While you were preparing the green bean casserole or watching the Macy’s Parade, Terry Bradshaw had some terse words about the Dallas Cowboys.
Of course the hot topic lately has been Jason Garrett. In fact, I don’t recall a time when Garrett was in more hot water than it seems he is now. In addition, rumors are swirling about the next Cowboys head coach.
"[Jason Garrett], in my opinion, has never been the coach for this team… [The Cowboys] have not been relevant since [Jimmy Johnson] was the head coach."

Therefore, here is what Bradshaw had to say about the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, and the head coaching situation. Without question, he doesn’t stop short or mince his words.
“Just go back to last week on the 11-yard line, going into score. Against the Patriots down 13-6 and trying to go into score, what did they do? Kicked the field goal to make it 13-9. He didn’t get aggressive, he didn’t go after it. It just seems to be his M.O., and I don’t think that Jerry Jones is going to pick a different head coach. He’s not going to hire another Jimmy Johnson – he doesn’t want someone that wants control of football operations or picking the players. He doesn’t want a Bill Parcells, who is just like Jimmy. He’s not going to pick that kind of coach. Therefore, he’s gonna get another Jason Garrett; and we’re gonna see the same thing”.
Then, Bradshaw closed hard on Jones and the Dallas Cowboys.
“This team has not been relevant since that guy [Jimmy Johnson] was the head coach”.
Honestly, I agree with Bradshaw to a degree. It’s painfully obvious that the Cowboys are stuck in a perpetual cycle. Part of this is due to the decisions of the owner – who is in some parts brilliant – and some parts madman. At this stage in the game, the Cowboys won’t succeed by winning it all due to a decision by Jones. They will probably need to luck into it if it happens at all, and it’s rare that it happens in the NFL.
Finally, they’re a fine team; but it’s obvious to people in the know like Bradshaw that they’re not really going anywhere. This is the hallmark of a Garrett Cowboys’ team through his tenure.
