Crolla vs Linares Boxing Odds for Saturday

Crolla vs Linares Boxing Odds – The Manchester Arena hosts world championship boxing this Saturday, September 24th, as WBA world lightweight titleholder Anthony “Million Dolla” Crolla defends his belt against Venezuela’s Jorge “El Nino de Oro” Linares.

Crolla (31-4-3) won the WBA lightweight belt last November when he stopped Darlys Perez in the 5th round of their bout at the Manchester Arena. Since then, he defended the belt this past May when he knocked out Venezuela’s Ismael Barroso in the 7th round. Barroso came out fast, but could not sustain the pace against the bigger, stronger Briton, who wore him out and KO’d him just after the midway point of the fight.

In Linares, Crolla is facing his toughest challenge to date. Linares is a very experienced 40-3 overall and he has held world championships in three different weight classes, including lightweight. In May, 2015, Linares defeated Kevin Mitchell (39-2) in London for a WBC world lightweight title defense, so Linares has fought and won on the British Isles. The experience cannot be discounted, as Crolla has fought six of his last seven fights in the same building and the champion is used to fighting under the home ring advantage.

Linares will be dangerous throughout the fight, as he has 27 KOs in his 40 victories. Aside from his power, Linares is known as a highly clever and technical fighter who could easily outscore Crolla with the judges over the course of 12 rounds. Crolla is not heavy handed, with just 13 stoppages over the course of his career, but he has stopped two opponents in a row and if Linares does have an Achilles heel it may be his durability. Linares has been off for roughly one year and he has had surgery to repair a broken right hand, but he claims to be fully recovered and is highly motivated to return to the ring. As for Crolla, a win over Linares would be the best victory yet on his resume and help his standing as one of a handful of world title holders in the 135 pound division.

Crolla vs Linares Boxing Odds

Promoter Eddie Hearn and his Matchroom boxing have put together a big 11 fight card that sees the main events air on SKY in England. Check back later in the week to see if additional lines or over/under #s are posted.

Lightweight 12 rounds –
Jorge Linares +190
Anthony Crolla -230

Middleweight 12 rounds –
Jack Arnfield +550
John Ryder -925

Below are additional lines that have been posted last minute for fights on the card. Both Callum Johnson and Hosea Burton have had opponents change in the build-up to the fight and lines have been released with the latest opponents. Though it is unusual to see action on a 4 round fight, the presence of second generation fighter Conor Benn on the card means the books will take a look. Benn is the son of Nigel “The Dark Destroyer” Benn, a British fighting legend and former two division world champion who should likely be in the Boxing Hall of Fame.

Light Heavyweight 12 rounds –
Willbeforce Shihepo +400
Callum Johnson -600

Fernando Castaneda +2000
Hosea Burton -5000

Super Lightweight 4 rounds –
Ross Jameson +2000
Conor Benn -6000
