According to Adam Schefter, Fowler may be somewhat fortunate though, because of a prior agreement with the Jaguars that protects him in case of injuries like the one sustained today.
Before suffering season-ending torn ACL, Dante Fowler signed an injury protection waiver that obligates Jaguars to negotiate in good faith.

Fowler was the No. 3 pick in last week’s draft and was being looked upon to help revitalize a stagnant Jaguars’ pass rush.
According to Jenn Bouda of the NFL Network, there wasn’t a lot of contact on the drill that Fowler was injured on and that he fell awkwardly. He got up on his own power, but was helped off the field by the Jaguars trainers.
Fowler never missed a game at Florida with an injury, playing in 37 consecutive contests.
Michael Silver of the NFL Network asked Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell about Fowler’s condition and Caldwell replied with a single word, “brutal.”
