D’Arcy Named as NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee

D’Arcy Autumn D’Arcy, a swimmer representing CSU Bakersfield, has been named as a nominee for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year Award. A program rewarding women for their accomplishment in academics, athletic excellence, community service, and great leadership selected less than 600 scholar-athletes from a pool of almost 220,000 female players across all levels of collegiate athletics.

Despite graduating more than a month ago, Autumn continues to set a benchmark at CSUB, according to Chris Hansen, director of swimming at CSUB. “She is an inspiration to all of the CSUB athletes and a fantastic role model for young swimmers in terms of what perseverance and hard work can accomplish. In our attempts to advance the swimming program, she has undoubtedly encouraged me.”

As the 2022 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swimmer of the Year and the first CSUB woman to qualify for the Division I NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, D’Arcy put the finishing touches on a stellar career. In her career, she has earned 65 wins.
