Heavyweight boxing has a showcase weekend coming up as there are four significant heavyweight fights on tap. The biggest of these features new WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder making his first title defense against Eric Molina in a fight set to air on Showtime. Wilder won the belt back in January to become the first American World Champion in the heavyweight division since 2008, and he now has a target on his back as both Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury have both talked about taking the WBC belt from Wilder.
In New Zealand, much-hyped prospect Joseph Parker (13-0) faces veteran Yakup Saglam (34-3). Parker is back from a stint serving as a sparring partner for Wladimir Klitschko, and he has been developing nicely under the watchful eye of Kevin Barry. Saglam is originally from Turkey, and though he has fought internationally throughout his career his level of competition is atrocious and he is not expected to offer much resistance to the up and coming 23 year old in Parker, who he is 15 years older than.

In Finland, Robert Helenius continues his cautious return to boxing after spending several years fighting sporadically. In 2011, he was getting to the point of cracking the top 10 in the weight class, and he remains undefeated at 20-0. Helenius is facing Beka Lobjanidze, who at 12-2 has won all his fights in his native Georgia and has lost all his bouts on the road.
