Columbus is 6-4 straight up (SU) and has earned moneyline bettors 0.3 units this year. That winning percentage, the third-best in the Metropolitan Division in this young season, is right in line with the 45-37 record the team posted during the 2017-18 season campaign. Through 10 regular season contests, six of the team’s games have gone over the total, while four have gone under and none have pushed. The team is 3-3 SU at home this year.

The Blue Jackets have converted on just 15.4 percent of their power play opportunities this year, a mark that’s ranked 25th overall in the NHL. On the other hand, their penalty kill is ranked 24th overall, and they’ve successfully killed off 72.7 percent of all penalties.

The Blue Jackets, as a collective unit, have been whistled for penalties 3.7 times per game this season. Last year, they posted the lowest mark in the league with 3.1 penalties per game. After serving an average of 7.2 penalty minutes per game a season ago the team’s been forced to stave off opponent power plays for 7.6 minutes per outing this year.

Sporting a .872 save percentage and 26.0 saves per game, Sergei Bobrovsky (2-4) has been the primary goalkeeper for the Jackets this season. If Columbus chooses to give him a breather, however, head coach John Tortorella might turn to the undefeated Joonas Korpisalo (4-0 record, .897 save percentage, 3.46 goals against average).

Artemi Panarin and Cam Atkinson will both lead the way for the Blue Jackets. Panarin (15 points) is up to five goals and 10 assists and has recorded multiple points in four different games this year. Atkinson has six goals and five assists to his credit and has recorded a point in six games.

On the other hand, Detroit is 2-9 straight up (SU) and has lost 5.8 units for bettors taking the moneyline this year. Through 11 regular season contests, five of its games have gone over the total, while another five have gone under the total and just one has pushed. As the visiting team, the Red Wings are 1-5 SU so far.

Detroit’s players have been penalized 4.8 times per game this season, a number that has risen some from the 3.7 penalties per game given up last year. After serving an average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game a year ago, the team’s been forced to stave off opponent power plays for 11.5 minutes per matchup this season.

Jimmy Howard (3.07 goals against average and .913 save percentage) has been the primary option in goal for Detroit. Howard is averaging 30.3 saves per game and owns a 1-7-2 record.

Leading the offensive attack for the visiting Red Wings will be Dylan Larkin (four goals, five assists) and Gustav Nyquist (one goal, seven assists).
