Pick to fit.
The list of borderline high-major talents taking their services to a name-brand school has always been an extensive one. It’s no secret that the name on the front of the jersey, or a school’s list of alums, will always be a selling point for athletic programs on the recruiting trail.
Perhaps that is why the commitment of four-star point guard Devearl Ramsey to Nevada has people chatting so much.
In an age where scouts and media are preaching the need for prospects to find their fit no matter what conference a school may be in, Ramsey did just that.
Three years ago, I couldn’t have ever imagined Devearl Ramsey ending up at Nevada. He has a chance to dominate there.

Just saw @JoshGershon reported Devearl Ramsey committed to Nevada. I think that’s a steal. Eric Musselman continues to bring in talent. — Jeff Borzello (@jeffborzello) October 5, 2015
Ramsey had a host of Pac-12 Conference options, including the USC Trojans, who had been considered the leader for his services for several years.
It’s refreshing to see a prospect go with a program with a proven coach, and one that will provide him the opportunity to contribute on a greater level immediately upon arriving. Whether or not this means that more local prospects will follow his lead, no one knows.
