The Dodgers are having a dream season thus far, and the dreamiest weekend of all just passed. L.A. had a rookie hit a walk-off home run on Friday … and on Saturday … and on Sunday. Three different rookies playing hero for a team with plenty of All-Star veterans is pretty amazing. If you’re the Rockies, it’s pretty amazing in the other way. Speaking of amazing, Albert Pujols had one more night in St. Louis, which gave him a legend’s sendoff just in case it’s the last time he ever plays there. And the Pirates staged an amazing rally to sweep the Padres in what was a scintillating Sunday of baseball.
Everyone had to be thinking the same thing when the Dodgers entered the bottom of the ninth inning tied 3-3. But for it to actually happen a third time? Amazing.
Two rookie walk-offs wasn’t enough?

Remember when the #Dodgers were the first team in MLB history to have rookies hit walk-off homers in two straight games? That’s so yesterday. pic.twitter.com/g5K4mwlS4Y

Cookie and I had a great time today watching our @Dodgers. We pulled off our third straight walk-off victory with a 6-3 win against the Rockies! pic.twitter.com/MzqpmXo1pX

As for the Rockies, that’s about as tough of a series sweep as you can imagine. At least the social media team got some good news.

Mike Trout had a front-row seat to a weekend of ovations for a former Best Player in Baseball, his teammate Albert Pujols.
There’s only one Albert Pujols. What a privilege it’s been these last 3 days in St. Louis. #THEMACHINE!! pic.twitter.com/Wvq3HK81cw

Meanwhile, Pujols and Molina executed a soccer-style jersey swap after the Sunday night game.

And finally, the Pirates had an amazing finish to a series sweep of their own, scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the Padres and then four to beat them in the 11th.

The #Pirates trailed the #Padres, 7-4, in the 9th and 10-7 in the 11th — and won (11-10)!
Two teams in 18 days came from 3+ back in both the 9th & extra innings to win in 1930. Then it didn’t happen again for 89 years — until this game.
Baseball!
