Echo Arena Boxing Odds – This Saturday, April 2nd at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, Eddie Hearn hosts a big boxing card that sees regional titles at play in four featured bouts.
The main event of the evening sees popular Callum Smith try to take the European Super Middleweight belt from France’s Hadillah Mohoumadi. Smith is an undefeated (18-0) 25 year old fighting in his hometown. Smith watched his brother Liam become a world champion and another brother Paul Smith has been fighting the likes of Andre Ward, James DeGale and Arthur Abraham in his long career. Then there is Steve Smith, the fourth fighting brother who faces Jose Pedraza for the IBF Super Featherweight belt in mi-April. Callum has some big footsteps to follow and he wants to add the European belt to his growing resume.
Mohoumadi has good experience on his resume however. The first time he fought for the belt he currently holds he lost, to James DeGale in England. He took the DeGale the distance, and DeGale went on to win a world title. Since that loss in October of 2012, he has won six in a row, five by knock out.
The co-feature fight sees Rocky Fielding (21-1) facing Christopher Rebrasse (24-4-3) for a vacant WBC International title at Super Middleweight. Fielding’s lone loss comes at the hands of Callum Smith, so you can look for promoter Eddie Hearn to possibly work on a re-match should both Brits win.
Though Fielding is a big favorite as well, he is facing a known quantity on Rebrasse. The Frenchman fought Callum Smith to a twelve round decision loss last June at the same Echo Arena and he also has a respectable twelve round loss in London to George Groves.

Undefeated British Lightweight champion Scott Cardle (19-0) defends his belt against Sean Dodd (10-2). The two fought last November, and the bout ended with a 12th round stoppage of Dodd by Cardle. A look at the judges scores revealed that Dodd would have won a split decision after eleven rounds. Both men were cut and overall it was a hard fought emotional fight worth doing again.
The tightest line of the evening comes in the Middleweight division as Tom Doran (16-0) battles Luke Keeler (10-1) for the vacant WBC International title. This one is also a re-match, as the two met in February of last year and Doran won a UD 29-28. The fight was in the semi-finals of a Prizefighter tournament. That shortened format lef tfew satisfied and there have been call for a rematch ever since.
There are eleven fights in all on the live event, so check back at the books closer to the fights.
