In the next few days, a rather dubious record will be broken. Edwin Jackson already has his name tied to one dubious achievement, and he will become the answer to another bit of baseball trivia the first time he pitches for the Toronto Blue Jays. Jackson set the record for throwing the most pitches in a no hitter when he threw 149 pitches in a no-no for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2010, and he is set to pitch for a record 14th team in the very near future. That’s the top story on Mother’s Day, but there is more news below.

Edwin Jackson is set to break Octavio Dotel’s record of playing for 13 MLB teams when he pitches for his 14th on Wednesday. The Toronto Blue Jays have penciled in Jackson for a start on Wednesday after acquiring the veteran from the Oakland A’s in exchange for cash considerations on Saturday.

Bumgarner chose teams strategically; list comprised solely of contenders that might want to acquire him from #SFGiants, not teams he wants to avoid.

Madison Bumgarner is probably going to be dealt in the next few months, and the veteran left-hander is trying to find a good landing spot. Bumgarner has an ERA just a hair under 4, but his advanced metrics indicate he will turn it around over the course of the season.

Craig Kimbrel has been arguably the best closer in the 2010s, and the seven-time All-Star is still available after turning down a one-year $17.9 million dollar qualifying offer from Boston in November. Tampa Bay and other teams are considering adding Kimbrel to bolster their bullpens, and he is likely to command a hefty sum.
