Southampton vs. Everton

Three-Way: 1: Southampton +100; X: +260 Draw; 2: Everton +400 at BetDSI Sportsbook

Spread -0.5: Southampton -111; Everton +110

Total +2.5: Over +136; Under -137

SOUTHAMPTON

The Saints are in the three-game winless streak in the Premier League, and the match against struggling Everton could be exactly what they need to snap the negative run. Southampton lost the previous two games without scoring a goal in each of them, and the latest 0:3 loss to Liverpool at Anfield sent them to the 14th position with 13 points, one more than the Toffees. Mauricio Pellegrino’s side failed to attempt a single shot on target at Anfield, while Liverpool beat them thanks to Mohamed Salah’s brace and goals from Philippe Coutinho. The gaffer is under a lot of heat recently, and although he said that he is not afraid of losing his job, Pellegrino also admitted the team must improve, but another bad result here could be his last one as the Saints’ manager.

Southampton played 13 games so far in the 2017/18, recording three victories, four draws, and six losses, with a goal difference of 9:16, which is 1.92 goals per contest on average. The Saints didn’t score in five out of eight home matches this season, but they suffered only two defeats to Everton at St. Mary’s since 1999.

Manolo Gabbiadini is the team’s top scorer with three goals in 13 appearances, while the captain Steven Davis added a couple of goals to his name. Dusan Tadic, Shane Long, and Charlie Austin combined for miserable two goals, and Pellegrino knows that they must improve or Southampton will continue to struggle. Nathan Redmond and Long contributed with a pair of assists apiece, but that is not enough for the players of their caliber, and it can be said that every Saint disappointed this term. Pellegrino cannot count on Oriol Romeu who collected his fifth yellow card and is suspended for this clash, while the midfielder Mario Lemina is questionable to face Everton due to an ankle injury.

EVERTON

The Toffees didn’t lose the last two Premier League matches, but they suffered a disaster in the Europa League last Thursday as Atalanta destroyed them 5:1 at Goodison Park. Another embarrassing defeat for Everton who still has to find a new manager as it is clear that David Unsworth cannot do the job. Following the 2:2 draw at Selhurst Park with Crystal Palace, Everton is in the 16th position with 12 points, just three ahead of the relegation zone.

Everton played 23 games in this campaign, recording seven victories, five draws, and 11 losses, with a goal difference of 25:42, which is 2.91 goals per contest on average. The Toffees are without a win in the last ten away matches, and they scored just four goals in six Premier League visits, so that has to be concerning for Unsworth prior to this encounter on Sunday.

OumarNiasse is the team’s leading scorer with six goals in nine appearances, but will not feature on this one as the FA suspended him with two games for diving at Selhurst Park, so Niasse became the first player to get suspended under the new FA laws. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Wayne Rooney are following Niasse on a goal-scoring chart with five goals apiece, while Gylfi Sigurdsson and Calvert-Lewin are the best assist-makers with three dishes to their respective names. David Unsworth will be without Ramiro Funes Mori who is out until April with a knee injury, Seamus Coleman (broken leg), Yannick Bolasie (cruciate ligament rupture), and Ross Barkley (hamstring).

Southampton vs. Everton – Match Prediction

Despite only three out of the last ten H2H matches ended with goals on both sides, I believe we will see at least one on each end as both teams need a victory here.

MY PICK: Both teams to score YES (+110)

Burnley vs. Arsenal

Three-Way: 1: Burnley +550; X: +355 Draw; 2: Arsenal -154 at BetDSI Sportsbook

Spread +1: Burnley -102; Arsenal +102

Total +2.5: Over -128; Under +125

BURNLEY

The Clarets are the most pleasant surprise in the Premier League at the moment, and their three-game winning streak without a goal conceded is quite impressive. Jack Cork and Ashley Barnes secured the latest 2:0 win over Swansea at Turf Moor, and those three points sent them to the 7th position with 22 points, the same amount as Liverpool and Arsenal. Sean Dyche must be proud of his lads, but he would be prouder if the Clarets defeat the Gunners on Sunday, but that is easier said than done.

Burnley played 14 games this season, recording seven victories, four draws, and three losses, with a goal difference of 16:12, which is precisely two goals per contest on average. The Clarets didn’t suffer a home defeat in the previous four matches and kept their net intact in three of those four, but they are without a win over Arsenal since 2008.

Chris Wood is the team’s top scorer with four goals in ten appearances, while Sam Vokes with three, and Jack Cork, Robbie Brady, and Jeff Hendrick with a pair of goals each are also key contributors to the attack. Johann Gudmundsson and Brady are the most creative individuals with three assists to their respective names, and they could create a lot of problems with crosses from both flanks, so Arsenal should pay special attention to them. Sean Dyche cannot count on Jonathan Walters (knee), Tom Heaton (shoulder), and Dean Marney (cruciate ligament rupture) as they are all injured and unable to feature on Sunday.

ARSENAL

The Gunners are far from excellent form lately as they won only two out of the last five matches in all competitions, but they bounced back after a 3:1 loss to Man City in the Premier League with a 2:0 win over the arch-rivals Spurs. However, Arsenal lost in the Europa League on Thursday as Koln beat them 1:0 in Germany, but Arsene Wenger’s squad will continue to participate in the UEL as they won the top spot in the group with one match to go. The Gunners are currently in the sixth position in the Premier League with 22 points, 12 fewer than the leaders Man City.

Arsenal played 20 games in the 2017/18 so far, recording 13 victories, two draws, and five losses, with a goal difference of 35:22, which is 2.85 goals per contest on average. The Gunners suffered all of their five defeats this year on the road, including two consecutive ones, and that could be Burnley’s opportunity to get a positive result when they welcome Arsenal on Sunday.

Alexandre Lacazette is the team’s leading scorer with six goals in 13 appearances, while Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, SeadKolasinac, Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey, and Danny Welbeck added three goals apiece. Granit Xhaka and Ramsey are the best assist-makers with four dishes to their respective names, while Kolasinac, Sanchez, and Mesut Ozil recorded three assists each. Arsene Wenger is still without Santi Cazorla who is dealing with an Achilles tendon injury, while Theo Walcott is doubtful due to an illness.

Burnley vs. Arsenal – Match Prediction

I am not convinced Arsenal will get three points here, but I am not brave enough to go with Burnley, so I opted for both teams to score, even though the Clarets didn’t concede a goal in the previous three matches.

MY PICK: Both teams to score YES (-115)
