Brighton vs. Crystal Palace
Three-Way: 1: Brighton +175; X: +225 Draw; 2: Crystal Palace +211 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread 0: Brighton -114; Crystal Palace +117
Total +2: Over -116; Under +114
BRIGHTON
The Seagulls suffered the first defeat in six Premier League matches as Lewis Dunk scored an own goal at Old Trafford, and Brighton lost 0:1, but displayed great defensive performance and fought bravely throughout the encounter. Chris Hughton’s side is currently in the 9th position with 16 points, eight more than Crystal Palace, and Brighton is looking to bounce back against the weakest team in the league at the moment.
Brighton played 15 games so far in the 2017/18, recording five victories, four draws, and six losses, with a goal difference of 14:15, which is 1.93 goals per contest on average. The Seagulls have only one home defeat and it was a 0:2 one against Manchester City at the start of the Premier League. Brighton beat the Eagles just twice since 2002, and the visitors are playing much better lately, so it is not going to be an easy matchup for Hughton’s team.
The veteran striker Glenn Murray is the team’s top scorer with four goals in 11 appearances, while Pascal Gross with three, and Jose Izquierdo and TomerHemed with a couple of goals to their respective names are following Murray on a goal-scoring chart. The German midfielder Gross is the most creative individual at Amex Stadium with five assists so far, and he and Davy Propper could create plenty of chances to the forwards, so I am highlighting them as players to watch on this one. Chris Hughton cannot count only on Steve Sidwell who is struggling with a back injury and will not feature on Tuesday.
CRYSTAL PALACE
The Eagles improved since Roy Hodgson took over the reign at Selhurst Park as they are without a defeat in the previous two Premier League matches. Crystal Palace collected three points against Stoke City despite trailing 0:1 early in the second half, but goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and the winner from MamadouSakho in the dying minutes of the encounter secured a win. Palace is currently in the last 20th place, but they are now just three points behind West Brom who is above the relegation zone.
Crystal Palace played 16 games in this campaign, recording four victories, two draws, and ten losses, with a goal difference of 12:30, which is 2.62 goals per contest on average. The Eagles have a lot of problems to get a positive result away from home as they lost all seven matches so far, scoring miserable one goal and conceding 17 in return. Hodgson’s team won three out of the last five visits to Amex Stadium, but they didn’t meet since 2013.
James McArthur and WilfriedZaha are the team’s leading scorers with three goals apiece, while BakarySako added a couple of goals to his name. Andros Townsend recorded an assist against Stoke and now has three in total, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek is right behind him with two dishes at the moment. Roy Hodgson is still without Connor Wickham who is sidelined with a cruciate ligament rupture and will not be back until January, while Chung-Yong Lee is out with a muscle injury.
Brighton vs. Crystal Palace – Match Production
The Seagulls allowed a goal in the previous three home matches, and the Eagles apparently improved lately, so I am anticipating goals on both ends here as it is the right time for Palace to score on the road.
MY PICK: Both teams to score YES (+110)
Leicester City vs. Tottenham Hotspur
Three-Way: 1: Leicester +401; X: +309 Draw; 2: Tottenham -118 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread+0.5: Leicester +121; Tottenham -125
Total +2.5: Over -118; Under +116
LEICESTER CITY
The Foxes are looking for the first Premier League win in four matches and are returning to King Power Stadium following a 1:1 draw at West Ham on Friday. Leicester opened up the tilt on a high note and Jamie Vardy found Marc Albrighton in the penalty box and the midfielder scored in the 8th minute to give ClaudPuel’s side an early lead. However, the hosts managed to equalize in the final seconds of the first half through CheikhouKouyate, who set the final score as it turned out in the end. Leicester is in the 12th position with 14 points, ten behind Spurs, but a potential three points here could send the Foxes to the top half of the table.
Leicester City played 16 games in this season, recording six victories, five draws, and five losses, with a goal difference of 26:21, which is 2.93 goals per contest on average. The Foxes lost the previous home match 0:2 to Man City and that was the only time they failed to score at King Power Stadium this term, and I don’t think it will happen against Tottenham, who is not quite good in defense when it comes to road games lately. Leicester is without a home win over Spurs since 2006, while the last H2H duel ended 1:6 for Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
Jamie Vardy is the team’s top scorer with six goals in 14 appearances, while Shinji Okazaki with five, Islam Slimani with four, and RiyadMahrez with three are also key contributors to the attack. The Algerian international Mahrez is the best assist-maker with five dishes to his name, while Harry Maguire, Vicente Iborra, and Andy King recorded a pair of assists thus far. Claude Puel cannot count on Robert Huth (malleolar), Matty James (Achilles tendon), and Adrien Silva (suspension), and they will not return to the pitch before January.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
Spurs are searching for the first Premier League win in three matches as they disappointed against West Brom in a 1:1 stalemate at Wembley on Saturday. Tottenham failed to book three points despite having 23 shots toward Ben Foster’s goal, and Harry Kane only managed to equalize in the 74th minute after Solomon Rondon gave an early lead to the visitors in the 4th minute. Mauricio Pochettino’s side is currently in the 5th position in the Premier League with 24 points and they are trailing behind Man City by 13 points already.
Tottenham Hotspur played 20 games in the 2017/18 so far, recording 12 victories, four draws, and four losses, with a goal difference of 36:17, which is 2.65 goals per contest on average. Spurs lost the previous two away matches in the Premier League, without scoring a goal in the process, and although they faced Man United and Arsenal, I don’t think it will be much easier against the Foxes on Tuesday. They did score six behind Kasper Schmeichel’s back in the last season, but I don’t believe it will happen again here.
Harry Kane is the team’s leading scorer with 15 goals in 17 appearances and is looking unstoppable at the moment, while Dele Alli with seven, and Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen chipped in with four goals apiece. The right-back Kieran Trippier is the most creative individual with seven assists to his name, while Eriksen and Alli are following him with four dishes each. Mauricio Pochettino is without Victor Wanyama (hyaline cartilage) and Toby Alderweireld (hamstring), and they will not be back until January.
Leicester City vs. Tottenham Hotspur – Match Prediction
Tottenham allowed a goal in the past four away matches, while Leicester failed to score at home just once this season, so I am anticipating goals on both ends here.
MY PICK: Both teams to score YES (-125)
