Everton vs. Arsenal
Three-Way: 1: Everton +300; X: +270 Draw; 2: Arsenal +114

EVERTON
The Toffees are going through a lot of problems at the moment as they are without a victory in the last four matches while the Thursday’s night home loss to Lyon in the Europa League added more salt to the wound. Everton are in a practically impossible situation to advance from the group E as Atalanta with seven, and Lyon with five points are way ahead of them, so Ronald Koeman should concentrate on the Premier League instead. This tilt with Arsenal could be his last one at Goodison Park, as the Dutchman is under a lot of pressure.
Everton has played 16 games so far in the 2017/18, recording six wins, four draws, and six losses, with a goal difference of 16:21, which is a bit over 2.3 goals per contest on average. The Toffees have been poor at home of late as they failed to win in the previous three outings, conceding five in the process, but they beat Arsenal at Goodison Park last year, so they are hoping to repeat it on Sunday.
Wayne Rooney is the team’s leading scorer with four goals in 14 appearances, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Oumar Niasse are right behind Rooney with three goals each. Calvert-Lewin is the best assist-maker with three dishes to his name, while Tom Davies and Gylfi Sigurdsson recorded two apiece. Everton fans are expecting much more from Sigurdsson and Davy Klaasen who came to Goodison Park as major reinforcements, but all they did so far is one goal and three of assists, combined. Ronald Koeman is still without Ross Barkley (hamstring), Aaron Lennon (muscle), Seamus Coleman (broken leg), Yannick Bolasie (cruciate ligament rupture), and Ramiro Funes Mori (knee), and they are unavailable for this encounter.
ARSENAL
The Gunners are in considerably better form than Everton, despite losing the previous Premier League game at Vicarage Road to Watford. Arsenal won 1-0 in Belgrade against Crvena Zvezda in the Europa League, and they are cruising toward the first place in the group, with nine points out of the first three games. Olivier Giroud scored a brilliant overhead kick goal in the 85th minute and silenced over 50000 fans at Rajko Mitic Stadium. Arsenal did suffer a late defeat at Watford last week and are in the 6th position with 13 points, already nine behind the league leaders Man City.
Arsenal played 13 games so far in this campaign, recording nine victories, a draw, and three losses, with a goal difference of 23:14, which is 2.85 goals per contest on average. The Gunners are not particularly good away from Emirates, as they are without a win in the Premier League, losing at Stoke, Liverpool, and Watford, while their only point came in a city derby against Chelsea. Despite Everton’s devastating form, Arsenal will have a lot to do to get three points on Sunday.
Alexandre Lacazette is the team’s top scorer with four goals, but all of his goals came at Emirates, as he still didn’t score away from home. Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud, and Danny Welbeck are following Lacazette with three goals apiece, while Granit Xhaka is the most creative individual with four assists to his name. Arsene Wenger rested a bunch of first-team players in Belgrade, so they are fresh and ready to go on this one. However, he cannot count on Shkodran Mustafi (hamstring), Santi Cazorla (plantar fascia), and Calum Chambers (hip).
Everton vs. Arsenal – Match Prediction
Everton is struggling to keep their net intact, while the same can be said for Arsenal in away matches, so I expect to see plenty of goals at Goodison Park. Only one from the previous five H2H meetings in Liverpool didn’t produce three or more goals.
MY PICK: Over 2.5 goals (-114)
Tottenham vs. Liverpool
Three-Way: 1: Tottenham +129; X: +265 Draw; 2: Liverpool +250
Spread -0.5: Tottenham +121; Liverpool -127
Total +3: Over +116; Under -127
TOTTENHAM
Spurs are welcoming Liverpool in the most intriguing match of the Premier League ninth round in a search for the first win over the Reds since 2012. Tottenham is coming home after the incredibly positive result in the Champions League as they avoided defeat in Spain against Real Madrid, and thanks to Raphael Varane’s own goal, Spurs are at the top of the group H, with the same amount of points like the Galacticos – seven. Tottenham is in a fantastic form of ten games without a defeat and is currently in the 3rd position in the Premier League with 17 points, five behind the leaders Man City.
Tottenham played 12 games in the 2017/18, recording eight victories, three draws, and a loss, with a goal difference of 23:7, which is 2.5 goals per contest on average. It took a bit time to get accustomed to playing home matches at Wembley, but Spurs won the previous two without conceding, so Liverpool will have plenty to do to score one past Hugo Lloris on Sunday. However, Tottenham is without a home win over the Reds since 2012 and 2-1 league victory.
The great Harry Kane is the team’s leading scorer with 11 goals in 11 appearances, while Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli added three apiece, but it’s clear that Kane is a primary weapon in the attack. The right-back Kieran Trippier recorded the most assists with five at the moment, while Eriksen has four dishes to his name. Victor Wanyama (knee) and Erik Lamela (hip) are still a couple of weeks away from returning to the pitch, but Moussa Dembele might be in the contention as he’s recovering from an ankle bruise.
LIVERPOOL
The Reds are unbeaten in the last five matches, but after they failed to score a goal past terrific David de Gea in the North-West Derby against Man United, they recorded a fantastic 7-0 victory in Slovenia over Maribor in the third round of the Champions League. Liverpool was dominant from the referee’s first whistle, and Roberto Firmino opened the scoring in the 4th minute, while the Brazilian added one more goal and an assist. Mohamed Salah has also been outstanding with a couple of goals and an assist, while Philippe Coutinho contributed with a pair of dishes and a goal. Jurgen Klopp’s men are now at the top of the group with five points, the same as Spartak Moscow, but better goal difference than the Russians. The situation in the EPL is not that great for the Reds, as they are in the 8th position with nine points behind Man City and four behind Spurs.
Liverpool has played 14 games in this campaign so far, recording six victories, six draws, and two losses, with a goal difference of 29:20, which is 3.5 goals per contest on average. The Reds have only one away win in the Premier League, but they didn’t suffer a defeat in the previous four, and their record at Tottenham give them a lot of encouragement prior to this clash, that could be vital for either side.
The Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah is the team’s top scorer with eight goals in 13 appearances, while Roberto Firmino with six, and Philippe Coutinho with four are following Salah on the goal-scoring chart. Bobby Firmino is the most creative with four assists to his name thus far, while Salah and Coutinho added three apiece. Jurgen Klopp is still without Adam Lallana (hamstring) and Nathaniel Clyne (back), but the gaffer suggested that the pair could be back in the next few weeks. The Senegalese winger Sadio Mane is sidelined for another month with a hamstring injury and will not feature in this duel.
Tottenham vs. Liverpool – Match Prediction
It’s going to be a highly entertaining and unpredictable clash, and I cannot predict a winner here, which is why the most reasonable pick here is a DRAW.
MY PICK: Draw (+265)
