The Premier League and EPL fantasy season resumes this Saturday with a full slate of games as 12 teams will be in action. That means plenty of options to choose from when it comes to building a winning roster in DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues. We took the time to break down the matchups and evaluate every single player in order to build what we feel will be the perfect lineup for this weekend. Here is a look at this week’s optimal DraftKings Premier League Daily Fantasy Leagues lineup.
GK: Fraser Forster, Southampton
Salary: $4,300
Southampton is coming off a tough loss to Leicester City but they were undefeated in their three previous contests and should be able to get back on track versus Newcastle this weekend. Forster has been excellent in goal all season and he could be the best bet for a clean sheet win on Saturday.
D: Cesar Azpilicueta, Chelsea
Salary: $3,800
Chelsea’s second half has been worth talking about if only because of the fact that their start to the season was so bad that it doesn’t matter that they can’t seem to lose. Azpilicueta has been a strong value play throughout the entire second half for the Blues and that trend should continue when they clash with Swansea this week.
D: Virgil van Dijk, Southampton
Salary: $3,200
Southampton’s van Dijk was solid again in their loss to Leicester and should be in line to play the full 90 minutes against Newcastle this weekend. He isn’t very expensive at all at just $3.2K so he should be a strong fit as a sleeper option that allows us to save more money for other positions.
D: Simon Francis, Bournemouth
Salary: $2,800
Bournemouth is coming off an embarrassing lopsided loss to Manchester City but should be in line to bounce back this weekend when they visit Aston Villa. Francis has been a steady force on their back line all year and he is a strong fit in our lineup at under $3K.
M: Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City
Salary: $7,700
De Bruyne helped lead the assault on Bournemouth last season with a goal and three shots on target and he should be in line for another strong performance this weekend. De Bruyne has been an absolute stud all year when healthy for City so we have no problem spending a little bit more money to lock him in as our top midfielder.
M: Ben Watson, Watford
Salary: $4,100
Watson hasn’t been an offensive threat for Watford this year but he is a steady defensive player that can be relied on to play the full 90 minutes. Watford will be in for a tough test against Everton this week but Watson is available for a low enough price tag that he is worth taking a chance on him.
M: Jason Puncheon, Crystal Palace
Salary: $3,900
Puncheon returned to the starting lineup for Crystal Palace in last week’s draw with West Ham United and as long as he gets the nod again this week he should be a strong sleeper option at a low price. Make sure to check the wire to see if Yohan Cabaye will be in the lineup because if he isn’t then Puncheon’s value will climb as he gets involved in set pieces in corner kicks.
F: Sergio Aguero, Manchester City
Salary: $8,800
Aguero scored and finished with four shots in last week’s win over Bournemouth and we expect a strong encore performance versus West Brom on Saturday. Aguero has been excellent for City all year and the tandem of he and De Bruyne could pay massive dividends in EPL fantasy.
F: Pedro, Chelsea
Salary: $4,300
Pedro absolutely dominated for the Blues in last week’s win over Aston Villa, registering two goals with three shots in the lopsided 4-0 win. He should be in the starting lineup for Chelsea again this week and the fact that he is available at just $4.3K in EPL fantasy is pretty incredible.
FLEX: Charlie Austin, Southampton
Salary: $4,300
Austin’s goalless drought was extended to five games when he came on as a substitute in last week’s loss to Leicester but he could be back in the starting lineup this week. Southampton needs more out of Austin whether he’s in the starting XI or coming off the bench and the upside is there for a striker that is available at just $4.3K.
FLEX: Jose Fonte, Southampton
Salary: $2,400
With only $2.5K left to spend on our final FLEX positon it appears as though Fonte is the player with the highest upside of those that we can still afford. Fonte should play the full 90 minutes on the back end for Southampton and taking a chance on him could pay major dividends if they manage to pull out the clean sheet result in a bounce back effort versus Newcastle.
