The final Sunday of the Premier League season will feature 10 games on the schedule and that will mean plenty of options to choose from when building a winning roster in this weekend’s DraftKings EPL fantasy tournaments. We broke down the rosters to find the perfect combination of star talent and sleeper value options to help you make some serious cash. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Sunday’s DraftKings EPL Fantasy Leagues.
GK: Hugo Lloris, Tottenham
Salary: $3,900
Tottenham’s failure to catch Leicester City at the top of the table has lingered as they have gone blown leads in three straight games while earning a pair of draws and a loss. Hotspurs will need to be better to hold off Arsenal for second spot in the table and a home matchup with Newcastle United is just what they need. Lloris has been excellent for Tottenham this season and we are banking on him ending the season on a high note with a clean sheet win.
D: Toby Alderweireld, Tottenham
Salary: $2,900
With the potential for a clean sheet win in this spot it only makes sense to roll with at least a couple of strong value options on the back end for Hotspurs. Alderweireld doesn’t offer much offensive upside but he is a quality defender that should be instrumental in keeping Newcastle off the board this weekend.
D: Jan Vertonghen, Tottenham
Salary: $2,600
Vertonghen is another intriguing option from Tottenham as a slightly less expensive pick than Alderweireld. Like his teammate, he won’t offer much offensive upside but could register a strong EPL fantasy score with a clean sheet victory while allowing us to save more salary cap space to use on more important areas.
D: Lamine Kone, Sunderland
Salary: $2,600
Kone is an extremely interesting pick after he broke through with two goals on as many shots in Sunderland’s 3-0 win over Everton in his most recent game. They were Kone’s only two goals of the season but it’s still worth taking him at an extremely low price for this weekend’s matchup with Watford.
M: James Milner, Liverpool
Salary: $6,700
Milner has been an absolute beast in the middle of the field for Liverpool and we expect that trend will continue this weekend at home versus West Brom. Milner has six points in his last seven appearances for the Reds and has helped generate plenty of scoring chances so he should be a strong pick for this weekend.
M: Wahbi Khazri, Sunderland
Salary: $5,700
Khazri has become an intriguing EPL fantasy play at the midfield position of late in big part because of the number of crosses he continues to send in to the box for Sunderland. He has been limited to just one goal over his last three starts but it’s his playmaking ability we are targeting in this spot with the possibility Sunderland breaks through with some offense on Sunday versus Watford.
M: Eden Hazard, Chelsea
Salary: $5,600
Hazard has absolutely dominated from an EPL fantasy perspective for Chelsea recently and the fact that he is still available at less than $6K should make him an obvious fantasy target for Sunday’s DraftKings competitions. Hazard is up to four goals and three assists with a ton of crosses on the year and we expect him to go out with a strong finish as the defending champions Chelsea clash with new champions Leicester City.
F: Harry Kane, Tottenham
Salary: $7,700
Hotspurs are one of the few teams near the top with something to actually play for as they look to clinch second spot in the table with a victory Newcastle. Kane has scored three goals over his last four games with an average of just over 5.0 shots per game over that span and there is a good chance that he adds to his goal total as he already sits at 25 for the season.
F: Jamie Vardy, Leicester City
Salary: $7,200
A storybook season will come to an end for Leicester City on Sunday and while they have already clinched the Premier league title there is no doubt they will want to go out on a high note by taking down last year’s champions. Vardy is up to 24 goals and six assists in 35 games this season and there is a good chance he will deliver at least one more goal on Sunday.
FLEX: John Stones, Everton
Salary: $2,500
With about $5K left over to spend on our final two FLEX spots we certainly don’t have much room to operate so it only makes sense to turn back to the same method we used to address our defender positions. Everton is in position to wrap up the season with a win at home versus Norwich and while Stones doesn’t offer much offensive upside he should deliver a strong defensive performance again this week.
FLEX: Matthew Pennington, Everton
Salary: $2,300
Pennington is in the same position as Stones as a solid defender that should benefit from the fact that his team is in line to close out the year with a win at home against an inferior opponent. Pennington is also available at a slightly less expensive price than his teammate so if we had to choose between the two we would actually be more likely to roll with him at the FLEX spot.
