The Premier League season will continue on Saturday with just four games on the schedule. The matches between Manchester City and West Brom, as well as Arsenal versus Sunderland have been postponed. While that limits the number of rosters we can choose from in DraftKings competitions, it also allows us to focus on the best matchups with a focus on teams looking to avoid relegation. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s DraftKings EPL fantasy leagues.
GK: Eldin Jakupovic, Hull
Salary: $5,400
Hull is coming off consecutive losses and is suddenly just two points up on Swansea above the relegation zone. That will make this week’s matchup with Watford that much more important. It wasn’t long ago that Hull took down West Ham and Middlesbrough in back-to-back wins and we trust them to get back on track this weekend. Jakupovic will need to deliver a strong performance in order for Hull to pick up the win.
D: Leighton Baines, Everton
Salary: $5,100
With so many sleeper value options on the board, we decided to go all-in with our top defender pick in Baines. He is one of the priciest options on the board but considering his potential to produce at both ends of the pitch it makes sense to take a chance on him this weekend.
D: Andrea Ranocchia, Hull
Salary: $3,400
Ranocchia is one of those smart value picks that should produce for us this weekend. After ranking second among all Hull players in fantasy points in last week’s loss, Ranocchia should be a reliable source for EPL fantasy points this week at just $3.4K in DraftKings tournaments.
M: Kevin Mirallas, Everton
Salary: $7,900
After locking in Baines, we will once again spend a little more on a capable EPL fantasy option from Everton. Mirallas has the potential to record points in bunches so we will take a chance on him in this spot with the hope that he can deliver a strong performance once again.
M: Sam Clucas, Hull
Salary: $3,900
Clucas was another Hull player that seems undervalued heading in to an absolutely crucial contest this week. He has been one of Hull’s better attacking players all season and at under $4K he is worth taking a chance on in this spot.
F: Romelu Lukaku, Everton
Salary: $11,400
The most expensive option on the board this week is Lukaku. Considering the strikers that will be in action on Saturday he is definitely worth the investment. Everton is still within reach of the fifth spot in the Premier League table so look for a strong performance from Lukaku on Saturday as the look to close the gap behind Manchester United.
Everton enters the week in seventh place in the Premier League standings. They have been a reliable team in terms of EPL fantasy as they have scored 60 goals so far, which is the fifth-most in the EPL.
F: Abel Hernandez, Hull
Salary: $4,800
Hull’s top attacking option also happens to be available at under $5K, which makes him an obvious pick in this spot. Hernandez should be in line for a strong performance, so make sure you lock him in as part of a Hull stack in DraftKings competitions this weekend.
It’s not often that Hull makes our list for EPL fantasy purposes but we’re banking on Hernandez this week. Hull has given up 67 goals so far this season while only scoring 34, which is a big reason why they’re in 17th place.
FLEX: Xherdan Shaqiri, Stoke
Salary: $7,700
With close to $8K left to address our final FLEX position, we can once again go big with one of the more expensive options on the board. Shaqiri is capable of putting up a big number for Stoke on Saturday opposite Swansea. With so much money left over following a smart value picks, we can lock him in to our final FLEX position in DraftKings competitions. Stoke City enters the week in 11th place with 39 points. They have allowed 48 goals in 33 games so far this season.
