It is the time of the year when soccer fans are spoiled with the Champions League Round of 16 action as well as their domestic competitions. The EPL fantasy action will continue this weekend with a full slate of Premier League games and that means there will be some serious cash to be made on DraftKings. The EPL $15K Striker will be the main event for Saturday with $15,000 in total prizes handed out to the winners. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for your DraftKings EPL Fantasy Leagues on Saturday.
GK: Jack Butland, Stoke City
Salary: $4,100
Stoke snapped a three-game slide in style with a 3-1 win over Bournemouth and will look to build off that victory when they face an Aston Villa side that appears destined for relegation. Villa has scored a league-low 20 goals in 26 Premier League contests this season so, butland should be a solid option at the goalkeeper position.
D: Philipp Wollscheid, Stoke City
Salary: $2,400
Building around Stoke’s favorable matchup only makes sense with the opportunity to plug in Wollschied at a very reasonable $2.4K. Wollshied should play the full 90 minutes and could be in line for a clean sheet bonus.
D: Scott Dann, Crystal Palace
Salary: $2,600
The second and third defender positions in our lineup will also be used on deep sleeper options that allow us to spend more money in more important areas. Dann has been rock solid for Crystal Palace all season and should benefit from a favorable matchup versus a low scoring team in West Brom.
D: Damien Delaney, Crystal Palace
Salary: $2,300
Delaney has a goal and two assists this season, but the real reason why we have him in our lineup is the low price point and favorable matchup. Crystal Palace could very well hold West Brom off the board and that would mean clean sheet bonus points for both Dann and Delaney.
M: Matt Ritchie, Bournemouth
Salary: $5,800
The extra money that we saved at the defender positions doesn’t have to be blown in the midfield with Ritchie leading a solid cast of very reasonable priced options. Ritchie has stepped up as a key contributor for Bournmeouth this season and it makes sense to roll with him versus Watford.
M: Wilfried Zaha, Crystal Palace
Salary: $5,300
It didn’t take us long to go back to Crystal Palace for another strong value option in Zaha. He hasn’t been the most productive midfielder this season, but he will get plenty of opportunities to find the score sheet with a favorable matchup this weekend.
M: Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea
Salary: $5,300
Chelsea has turned things around somewhat since Jose Mourinho was sacked as manager and suddenly they have some decent fantasy options that we can use on Saturday. Fabregas is one of them as he is the Blues’ leading assist man this season and is available at just $5.3K.
F: Jamie Vardy, Leicester City
Salary: $7,400
The forward positions are where the money we saved at the defender spots will be used with Vardy the top striker option on the board for this weekend’s action. Leicester will be looking to rebound from its loss to Arsenal when it hosts Norwhich City on Saturday and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Vardy exploded with multiple goals.
F: Diego Costa, Chelsea
Salary: $7,000
Costa has been one of the key figures in Chelsea’s turnaround this season as he is up to 10 goals on the year. The Blues will look to continue their roll when they clash with Southampton on Saturday and we feel very confident in our 1-2 punch at the forward positions for this weekend’s Daily Fantasy League contests.
FLEX: Charlie Daniels, Bournemouth
Salary: $4,000
The best value on the board for the final two FLEX positions will be a couple of defenders from Bournemouth who we hope will have the added benefit of a clean sheet bonus when they clash with Watford. Daniels has been very consistent all season and is still available at a lower cost then some mediocre midfield and attacking options.
FLEX: Adam Smith, Bournemouth
Salary: $3,600
It only makes sense to double down on Bournemouth’s defenders at this point with Smith joining Daniels as two very strong options at a combined $7.6K. The forward and midfielders are assigned higher price tags on DraftKings so we have no problem plugging in a couple of key defenders at the FLEX spots for this week’s optimal fantasy lineup.
