The Premier League season continues with a relatively slight slate for Saturday as four games have been postponed, which leaves only three games on the slate. That will make it a little more difficult when it comes to building a winning lineup for this week and it should be no surprise that we are relying heavily on the one matchup that at least on paper appears to be the most favorable. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s DraftKings EPL fantasy leagues.
GK: Lukasz Fabianski, Swansea
Salary: $4,800
Swansea should be in the most favorable position of the six teams playing this weekend as they take on a Hull City side that is currently below the relegation line. Swansea is in a desperate position itself as it attempts to stay clear of the relegation zone so we expect a strong performance this weekend with Fabianski potentially in line for a clean sheet win.
D: Ashley Williams, Everton
Salary: $3,300
Everton is in a tough spot versus West Brom but we don’t expect it to be a high scoring game at all. Both teams will be playing a tight game and at $3.3K Williams should be a decent sleeper option.
D: Jordi Armat, Swansea
Salary: $3,000
Armt is available for even less money than Williams so he is the perfect fit for our second defender spot. We already mentioned the potential for the clean sheet win so look for Armat’s fantasy score to benefit if that happens.
M: Gylfi Sigurdsson, Swansea
Salary: $11,000
After saving with our sleeper defender options, we have more than enough money to spend big on the top midfield option in Sigurdsson. The Swansea midfielder has the highest potential of any player on the board this weekend so it makes sense to spend a little more to lock him in.
M: Nacer Chadli, West Brom
Salary: $4,900
While he isn’t in the same class as Sigurdsson, Chadli could surprise as a sleeper pick to produce for West Brom this week. The fact that he is available at under $5K makes him that much more attractive in DraftKings competitions. West Brom has been so-so in terms of EPL fantasy this season as they have just 36 goals in 27 games. They enter the week in eighth place in the EPL standings.
F: Romelu Lukaku, Everton
Salary: $9,700
If Sigurdsson is the top midfield option, then Lukaku is definitely the top forward option with Everton trying to find a way to take down West Brom in what should be a competitive match. Lukaku is another of the more expensive options but we feel very confident locking in each of the top players at their respective positions. Everton has been decent in terms of EPL fantasy for offensive purposes. They have scored 44 goals in 27 games. That total of 44 goals in the sixth-most in the Premier League.
F: Fernando Llorente, Swansea
Salary: $6,000
Llorente isn’t expensive but considering who is left on the board he might very well be the second-best forward option available to us. Llorente hasn’t been the most consistent striker this season but the potential is always there for him to deliver a strong performance. Swansea enters the week in 16th place in the Premier League. They have picked up just 27 points in 27 games this season.
FLEX: Kamil Grosicki, Hull
Salary: $7,200
With just over $7K left over to address our final FLEX position, we can spend a little more on Grosicki. There aren’t many other quality options on the board so Grosicki could be a popular play this weekend for a Hull side that is desperate to gain some ground in the standings. It’s rare that anyone from Hull City makes the cut for our EPL fantasy article but that’s the case this week. They have been one of the worst teams in the EPL this season as they have just 21 points in 27 games this season and are currently in 19th place in the standings. They need to pick up four points to pull out of the relegation zone.
