Fahnbulleh wins both sprint events at the NCAA Championships

At the NCAA Championships in Eugene on Friday, Olympic 200m finalist Joseph Fahnbulleh won the 100m and 200m crowns in under 45 minutes (10). In both events, the long-striding Liberian used his signature finish to great advantage, coming from behind to win the 100m in 10.00 (0.6m/s) and the 200m in 19.83 (0.6m/s), both national records.

Fahnbulleh, who runs for the University of Florida, won both events by a wide margin, with Favour Ashe and Javonte Harding finishing second and third in the 100m with times of 10.08 and 10.09, respectively. Matthew Boling came in second in the 200m with a time of 20.13. Fahnbulleh’s performance began 50 minutes before the 100m final, when he led Florida to a second-place finish in the 4x100m relay, finishing only 0.03 seconds behind victor USC (38.49). Overall, the University of Florida had a good weekend. Trey Cunningham, Ayden Owens-Delerme, and Eric Edwards were among the other famous attendees.
