Father/son combinations have a checkered history in college football. There are times when it feels like nepotism, but at other times, the coach’s son really is the best option. When Cody Hawkins was the quarterback under Dan Hawkins at Colorado it certainly seemed like the former, but Brent Stockstill thrived under Rick Stockstill at Middle Tennessee State during his career. Arkansas Razorbacks fans are hoping for the latter scenario when Chandler Morris comes to Fayetteville to play for his father, Chad Morris.

Chandler Morris is a four-star quarterback prospect, and the gunslinger chose to play for his father at Arkansas despite having a number of top offers. Oklahoma, Clemson, and Auburn were among the schools that had offered Morris.

Malik Langham entered the transfer portal in mid-April and after two months of looking, he has finally found a new home. Langham was a four-star prospect that was part of Florida’s Class of 2018, but he didn’t get much playing time as a freshman and looked to leave Gainesville. The defensive end will have three seasons of eligibility left with the Commodores.

Qwuantrezz Knight is looking to become immediately eligible to play for Kent State. Knight left Maryland in the middle of last season after investigations revealed that former Terrapins head coach DJ Durkin had been mistreating players. His initial request was denied two weeks ago, but he is appealing the NCAA decision.

Cameron Rising won’t be able to take the field for the Utah Utes this season. The former Texas Longhorns recruit was hoping to become the No. 2 quarterback behind Tyler Huntley, but the NCAA denied his waiver request for immediate eligibility yesterday. That likely leaves Jason Shelley as the No. 2 quarterback for the Utes in 2019.
