Sometimes, baseball is cyclical. With one superstar on his way back to an active roster in Major League Baseball, another one hits the injured list. Francisco Lindor is back for the Cleveland Indians after an ankle injury, but Jacob deGrom has some discomfort in his elbow and will miss at least one start for the New York Mets. Elsewhere, there’s Tim Anderson news and the Marlins have made a change, hoping it will spark their lineup.
Lindor strained a calf in Spring Training and then sprained an ankle as he was working his way back. The Indians are ready to get the player who’s the heart and soul of their team back.
Baseball needs Francisco Lindor just as much as the Indians do. https://t.co/PB1mMYp1N2

Meanwhile, it’s never good when a pitcher complains about elbow pain, but the Mets believe Jacob deGrom’s injury isn’t serious (or might not be an injury at all). Fingers crossed that he misses just one start.

White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was suspended after he flipped his bat and was thrown at by the Royals. Doesn’t seem like a suspendable offense, but apparently there was something else going on.
When MLB investigated the benches-clearing incident between the White Sox and Royals, umpires and players from both teams said Tim Anderson used a racially charged word, sources tell ESPN. Anderson received a one-game suspension from the incident, per sources.

If a new hitting coach will fix the Miami Marlins, then firing Mike Pagliarulo certainly is the right move. But it kind of seems like lipstick on a pig.
I mean, look at the stats. Stanton, Yelich, Realmuto, and Ozuna aren’t hitting at all for the Marlins. He had to go. https://t.co/cHCizGDwKN

Another pitcher on the IL — remember when Nathan Eovaldi threw a million pitches in last year’s World Series for the Red Sox? Wonder if that has anything to do with this.
Nathan Eovaldi has a “loose body” in his right elbow and that seems less than ideal.
