Joe Douglas of the Philadelphia Eagles was the early frontrunner for the vacant New York Jets general manager position. Saturday, he was officially given the job. Douglas was the vice president of player personnel for the Eagles previously. He replaced Mike Maccagnan, who the Jets fired this offseason. Adam Gase now returns solely to the position of head coach and will no longer be acting GM.

Texans send GM Brian Gaine packing
On the same day the Jets settled in on their new general manager, the Houston Texans were loading theirs up into the ejector seat. Houston fired Brian Gaine after a “thorough evaluation of football operations.” Chris Olsen, the team’s senior vice president of football administration will take over as interim GM.

Rams sign entire draft class Saturday
As has become a tradition under general manager Les Snead, the Los Angeles Rams signed their entire draft class in a single celebratory day.
