Sports Betting Tips with Chris Sheridan – episode 2:
PGA US Open / US Gambling and Betting Laws / NBA & Where is Lebron James Going
As the 2018 NBA Finals winds down, it seems like the debate over who will win the championship is over. Instead, focus of conversation has shifted to where LeBron James will end up. The free-agent-to-be has a host of options in terms of suitors and potential landing destinations, and that’s exactly what was discussed by Chris Sheridan and co-host Noah Cozlov on the debut episode of the Chris Sheridan Sports Gambling podcast.
LeBron James team for 2018-19 regular season
The first thing discussed on the podcast was why can’t James return to Cleveland and recruit a star? That’s a possibility but the oddsmakers view it as a long shot. The Cavs have the No. 8 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and a returning cast that includes Kevin Love, George Hill and Tristan Thompson, but that cast is among the weakest in the NBA. And we’ve seen how poorly they fared against the Warriors, which is why James is likely to leave.
Where Will LeBron Go?
So which team has the cap space and the supporting cast? “There’s probably six or seven teams that can get it done but it’s going to come down to where he wants to go,” said Sheridan. “Every team would like to have LeBron as the centerpiece of their franchise”.
The oddsmakers believe that James will land with the Los Angeles Lakers, who have been positioning themselves for this summer for years. They’ll have the cap space as well as the flexibility to add another superstar such as Paul George. Along with a piece like Kyle Kuzma, the Lakers would already have a strong foundation.
In the Eastern Conference, it looks like the Philadelphia 76ers are the favorites – especially now that Bryan Colangelo is gone. If the 76ers were to hire someone like David Griffin – the Cavaliers former General Manager – that might make Philadelphia an even more attractive destination.
Tune into the first episode of the Chris Sheridan Sports Betting Podcast to hear the guys handicap all of the options for LeBron James as we get set for what figures to be a very entertaining offseason.
