Whatever the contract impasse between the New York Giants and first round pick Daniel Jones was, it’s over now. Right at the 11th hour, Jones and the Giants got their heads together and hashed out a deal that puts the No. 6 overall pick in training camp.

With Jones in the fold, only San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa, New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and Carolina Panthers defensive end Brian Burns have yet to sign on the dotted line.
Jones was a three-year starter at Duke. As a senior, he completed 60.5 percent of his passes for 2,674 yards, 22 touchdowns and nine picks. He was the second QB taken in April’s NFL Draft to some ridicule, as the Giants passed on Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins to add Jones to their line up.
Certainly the number crunchers at EA Sports weren’t convinced that New York did the right thing with their pick. In the Madden 20 game, Jones starts with a 63 overall rating, behind Drew Lock with a 67 and Will Grier, who was given a 66.
Boston and Cyprien visiting Giants
The Giants brought in a couple of veterans to get their tires thoroughly kicked at the safety spot. Defensive backs Tre Boston and Johnathan Cyprien both visited the team Monday.

Boston spent last season with the Arizona Cardinals where he recorded 79 tackles, one for a loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, nine passes defended and three picks. He spent the first three seasons of his career with the Carolina Panthers after they drafted him in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Cyrprien missed all last season after an August ACL tear. He last played for the Tennessee Titans in 2017, notching 57 tackles, two for a loss, one sack and one pass defense in 10 games. He was a four-year starter for the Jacksonville Jaguars who selected him in the second round of the 2013 draft.
Giants are bringing in veteran free-agent safety Jonathan Cyprien for a visit today, per source.
