Golder joins to the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame

On Saturday, August 20, in connection with the 2022 National Congress & Trade Show and U.S. Gymnastics Championships, longtime University of Michigan men’s gymnastics head coach Kurt Golder was honored with induction into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame. After running the Wolverines’ program for 25 seasons, Golder decided to retire before the 2022 season. He guided the University of Michigan to six Big Ten Conference crowns and four NCAA championships (1999, 2010, 2013, 2014).

In addition to producing 118 NCAA All-Americans, 17 NCAA individual national winners, and 40 individual Big Ten champions, Golder was named the NCAA regional and national Coach of the Year in 1999, 2010, 2013, 2014, and 2021.

He earned three gymnastics letters, participated in the 1975 Big Ten championship team for the Wolverines, and graduated from Michigan in 1977 with a degree in education from the School of Education. Golder was further admitted in 2008 to the Alpena (Mich.) High School Alumni Hall of Fame. He is also the third Wolverine to hold this title.
