Burroughs starts Podcast #40 by discussing the new rules that will go into effect in 2019. New time limit on lost balls, a new way to drop the ball, players will be able to fix spike marks and no more yellow stacks, only red. He recaps last week’s action where Hudson Swafford picked up his first win on the PGA tour at the CareerBuilder Challenge. In Europe Tommy Fleetwood picked up his second career win at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and Bernhard Langer notches his 30th win on the Champions Tour in a wind-shortened 36-hole final at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hawaii.
Burroughs talks about last week’s golf picks which were 3-1, making the year-to- date picks 12-3- 3. Our host discusses this week’s action on all the tours across the world. The LPGA gets underway in the Bahamas. The European Tour stays in the Middle East at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters and the PGA Tour heads stays in California for the Farmers Insurance Championship where Tiger Woods makes his return to golf after a 17-month layoff.
Burroughs Picks:
Brendan Steele +5050 is off to a quick start this year. He’s fourth in the FedEx Cup rankings and has climbed all the way to No. 56 in the Official World Rankings with his recent stellar play. His last five starts go like this; 1st – T26 – T31 – T6 – T6. Back-to- back top tens in his last two starts have me all over Steele at +5050.
Special Tiger Woods Prop Bet
Will Tiger Woods make the cut?
YES -165
NO +130
The line opened up at just over pickem’ and the public are buying into Tiger and think he’s going to make the cut, driving the price up to -165. This is a good opportunity to take the plus money and go against the public. Woods hasn’t played in a long, long time and now comes to a real tough golf course with high rough and an U.S. Open type test. NO is the play!
