Burroughs starts Podcast #60 by taking us through last week’s action in the world of golf. For the second straight week on the PGA Tour, the tournament was decided in extra holes. Kyle Stanley and Charles Howell III tied at 7-under par at the Quicken Loans National. In the sudden death playoff it appeared that Howell III had the advantage after Stanley bailed his tee shot out to the right, but Howell III hit a poor approach shot and failed to get it up and down, while Stanley hit his approach shot just over the green, chipped it to 4-feet and calmly rolled in the putt for the victory.
On the other side of the pond at the HNA Open de France, Tommy Fleetwood continued his run of stellar play by beating American Peter Uihlein by a shot. The Englishman is on fire, contending at the U.S. open a few weeks ago and backing it up with his second win of the season.
On the PGA Champions Tour, Kenny Perry picked up his fourth Senior Major in dominating fashion at the U.S. Senior Open. Perry finished 16-under par to beat Kirk Triplett by two strokes. And Brandt Jobe by six.
Burroughs makes his picks for the week as well as helping you set your fantasy team. Our host record stands at 77 – 50 – 10 for the year and 5 – 2 last week. Burroughs dishes on this week’s action on all the tours across the world.
This week the PGA Tour heads to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia for the Greenbrier Classic where last year the tournament was cancelled due to extensive flooding.
The European Tour travels to Northern Ireland for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open where world No. 4, Rory McIlroy is the host and defending champion.
The PGA Champions Tour is in Baltimore, Maryland for the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS. Should be an exciting week in golf!

Out of all the betting favorites, I like Kevin Kisner +1660. Many forget that he’s the 24th ranked player in the world, but his results this year are stunning. He picked up a win at Colonial and has tacked on two other runner-up finishes. He’s currently 8th in the FedEx Cup standings and clearly likes this week’s venue, having lost in a playoff in 2015. Put your money on Kisner this week in West Virginia.
David Lingmerth +2000 has been playing solid golf for the last month or so and looked like he may win last week at the Quicken Loans National, leading for 54-holes, before struggling on Sunday to finish T5. In his last eight starts on the PGA Tour, he’s made every cut with seven top 25’s. The Swede finished T6 at the 2015 Greenbrier Classic and if he keeps knocking on the door, sooner or later, he’s going to kick it down.

If you like playing the longshots, Padraig Harrington +7500 is the pick. He’s played the course many times having grown up nearby. His recent form isn’t bad with a T31 and T17 in his last two starts on the PGA Tour. The veteran is trending in the right direction and is worthy of a play this week.
Lee Westwood +3050 is a perfect 12 for 12 in this tournament dating back to 1996. The conditions are ripe for a solid ball-striker and Westwood is just that, a solid, solid ball-striker. He finished 10th last week in Paris and I feel like the veteran has a few wins left in his tank.
Matthew Fitzpatrick +2300 posted on twitter that the airlines lost his clubs on the way to tournament so right off the bat things aren’t going well for the Englishman. Add to the fact that his game is not in good form (missed the cut in Paris) and his track record on Scottish courses is pathetic, going 2 for 7, I would stay clear of Fitzpatrick this week.
Burroughs wraps up #60 by talking about Steph Curry’s exemption in to a Web.com event in August and gives the listeners a tip on alignment using alignment sticks.
