Golf Undigested

The Golf Undigested Podcast with Clark Burroughs, a former PGA Tour player and proud Ohio State Buckeye, dishes out his latest news and musings in the world of golf. For all the latest golf odds and predictions, never miss an episode of Burroughs’ insightful advice and hilarious observations into the greatest game of all, GOLF!

Burroughs starts Podcast #66 by taking us through the last two week’s of action at the PGA Championship and Wyndham on the PGA Tour and the Paul Lawrie Match Play tournament in Europe.

Justin Thomas picked up his first major win and fourth win of the year at the PGA Championship. Henrik Stenson grabbed his first title in nearly two years at the Wyndham Championship and Adrian Otaegui won the Saltire Paul Lawrie Match Play.

The PGA Champions Tour was in Binghamton, New York for the Dicks Sporting Goods Open where Scott McCarron continued to dominate by picking up his third win of the year and trail only Bernhard Langer in the Charles Cup standings.

Burroughs makes his picks for the week as well as helping you set your fantasy team. Our host record stands at 98-69-12 for the year and 6-4 last week. Burroughs dishes on this week’s action on all the tours across the world.

Should be another exciting week in golf!

CHALK

Of the top 4-5 players, I like Jordan Spieth +1000 this week. The greens are perfect and the fairways are forgiving at Glen Oaks Club which should play right into the Texan’s game. He currently sits third in the points race and knows in order to win the FedEx Cup, he must win another tournament. This is his week. Spieth wins The Northern Trust and claims the No. 1 spot in the standings.

VALUE PICKS

Spain’s Rafa Cabrera-Bello +11100 is a talented player that when he’s on, he’s tough to beat. The only problem is that when he’s off, he misses the cut. I’m taking a chance that he finds his groove this week and gets in contention and at that price, the Spaniard is worth a play.

Bill Haas +12500 is a heck of a player – a proven PGA Tour winner and a FedEx Cup Champion – but never gets the respect he deserves. Haas is worth a play in all formats at that price and be sure to check around at all the sportsbooks to ensure you’re getting the best price.

MATCHUP of the WEEK

Phil Mickelson -120 vs. Charl Schwartzel EV

This is another matchup that the bookmakers have the wrong player favored. Mickelson has been playing some really bad golf, some of the worst we’ve seen from him in quite a while. In his last start at the PGA Championship, he missed the cut and only made one birdie – that’s not the Phil Mickelson we are used to seeing. Schwartzel is a ball striking machine that brings his game every week. Give me the South African at EVEN money.
