The Golf Undigested Podcast with Clark Burroughs, a former PGA Tour player and proud Ohio State Buckeye, dishes out his latest news and musings in the world of golf. For all the latest golf odds and predictions, never miss an episode of Burroughs’ insightful advice and hilarious observations into the greatest game of all, GOLF!
Burroughs starts Podcast #67 by taking us through last two week’s action at The Northern Trust in New York where Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth needed extra holes to crown the champion. World No. 1 Johnson proved once again why he’s the best player in the world by making birdie on the first playoff hole to spoil Spieth’s chances. It was Johnson’s fourth career FedEx Cup Playoffs win.
Across the pond in Europe, unheralded American Julian Suri picked up his first career win by rolling to a four stroke victory over David Horsey. John Daly finished T10.
The PGA Champions Tour was in Seattle, Washington for the Boeing Classic and Jerry Kelly picked up his first career win on the Senior Circuit by edgin Iowan Jerry Smith by on. Billy Mayfair and Bernhard Langer shared third place.
Burroughs makes his picks for the week as well as helping you set your fantasy team. Our host record stands at 104-73-12 for the year and 6-4 last week. Burroughs dishes on this week’s action on all the tours across the world.
Should be another exciting week in golf!

FADES
Phil Mickelson +9550 and Jason Day +1400
I can’t remember the last time Mickelson was close to +10000, but the way he’s playing, it’s the correct line. Lefty continues to struggle with his game and may be on the verge of missing the final events in the playoffs as well as missing out on the President’s Cup team. He says all the right things in his interviews, but the bottom line is that the results are bad, actually horrible and he can’t be trusted. Another poor finish is coming this week in Boston.
Jason Day +1400 is a boom or bust candidate on a weekly basis. He’s still ranked in the top ten in the world and even had a top five finish last week at The Northern Trust, but his record at TPC Boston is not good and he will disappoint this week – maybe a top 30 finish at best.
MATCHUP of the WEEK
Charl Schwartzel -120 vs. Chez Reavie EV
Schwartzel has the name and a major championship, but Reavie has the better game right now. Schwartzel’s last five trips to Boston go like this; T70-T43-22-47-T21 and he will need to improve upon those results if he wants to move up the FedExCup standings, where he currently sits at 49th. Reavie goes unnoticed most weeks but finds a way to maintain his game and carve out top finishes like he did last week with a T10. He has played in Boston course three times, finishing MC-2-T63, but comes into this week on a high and playing solid golf. Give me Reavie at even money.
