Rickie Fowler -115 vs. Tiger Woods -115
You do the math. Woods has FOUR green jackets, Fowler ZERO. That’s huge in my books. Fowler gets way too much attention for a player that has ZERO major titles. Woods is on the rebound and has regained his short game and more importantly, the swing speed he once had. Woods thrives at Augusta National and will easily have the game to beat fowler in this matchup.
Rickie Fowler -180 vs. Bubba Watson +140
How can Fowler be favored in this matchup – makes NO sense. Watson has won two of his last three starts and last I checked, has TWO green jackets. Watson should be the -180 favorite, so take advantage while you can on the bookmaker’s error in evaluation. Watson whips the flashy Fowler.
Jordan Spieth -150 vs. Rickie Fowler +120
After a dismal start to the year, Spieth appeared to turn the corner last week finishing solo third in Houston. The “Golden Child” has had huge success at Augusta in the past and will again this year. This betting line should be closer to -200 – get it now before it goes up.
VALUE PICK
Tony Finau +9950
In a previous article, I loved Finau and guess what, I still do. The soft spoken kid from Salt Lake City can flat out play. He is one of the longer hitters on the planet and can take advantage of the par 5’s at Augusta, which is key. If he can heat his putter up, he should contend and at close to 100/1, he’s worth a look in all formats.
FADE CITY
Rickie Fowler +2250 gets a lot of attention whenever he pegs it up and I keep asking myself, why? He’s never won a major championship and he rarely wins golf tournaments, in fact, in his career he has just four wins. Last week he was leading in Houston and he does what he always does, backs up. He ended up finishing T48 after leading in the third round. An elite player doesn’t do that and why I think the fan favorite Fowler, is the most over-hyped player in the world. Stay Away!
