Marquise Goodwin is a former Olympian who always laid claim to being one of the fastest players in the NFL. Now he’s got a trophy and a big pile of cash to back it up. The San Francisco 49ers pass-catcher beat Carolina Panthers cornerback Donte Johnson by 0.05 seconds in the final round of the “40 Yards of Gold “contest held in Sunrise, Fla. Saturday.
On his way to the title, Goodwin waxed Arizona Cardinals wideout Damiere Byrd, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Christian Blake and Denver Broncos running back Khalfani Muhammad. Former Carson-Newman and New York Giants wide receiver Kevin Snead was disqualified for a couple of false starts.
Y’all really let @marquisegoodwin con y’all out of 1 million dollars??

Jalen Thompson entering Supplemental Draft
The NFL’s supplemental draft list continues to grow. After learning he would lose his NCAA eligibility this week, Washington State’s Jalen Thompson will enter the NFL’s Supplemental Draft. Thompson was already tracking to be at least a mid-round pick in next year’s draft. Last year Thompson recorded 66 tackles, three for a loss, eight passes defended, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two interceptions for the Cougars.
A key entrance into the supplemental draft: Washington State S Jalen Thompson, who learned yesterday he lost his eligibility for the 2019 season and applied to be drafted in July. He hired agent Brad Cicala and is heading into the NFL. Should be selected.
