Grappling Metamoris 5 Odds

Later today, out in San Diego, California, the the Metamoris 5 event goes down.  The last week or so has seen several lineup changes affect the card but the main event superfight features MMA legends Renzo Gracie and Kazushi Sakuraba.

As the event gets closer, the line has spread out a bit as a Sakuraba finish has gone from (+270) to (+501), and Gracies line has gone from the same (+270) to (+338).  The draw seems to be getting the most action, as it now is at (-222), from about (-150) when the line opened.

In the first of the new matches, Kevin Casey was replaced my brown belt Matheus Diniz, resulting in an equally massive line favoring Vinny Magalhaes. Right now Magalhaes is the (-645) favorite over Diniz, who pays back at (+914) if he submits Magalhaes.  The draw stands at (+300).

The second reconstituted bout sees Metamoris vet Keenan Cornelius step in to replace Rafael Lovato Jr against Yuri Simoes.  Despite being a late replacement, Cornelius is one of the most respected grapplers on the circuit and he is favored at (-390) over Simoes, who pays back at (+358).  The draw sits at (+241).

UFC star Rory MacDonald is at (+816) as he faces JT Torres, who is favored at (-226).  The draw is at (+222), meaning Torres is a better than 2 in 1 favorite to win by finish.

The Garry Tonon vs Zak Maxwell match still has the draw as the most likely outcome, at (-156), with Tonon paying (+222) and Maxwell paying (+390).

There is also a ‘secret match’ planned. At Metamoris , the secret fight was Jeff Glover and Baret Yoshida.  Yoshida, a veteran competitor going back to the 90’s but Glover’s game proved much more fresh and modern.  Glover did not exactly show a killer instinct in the match, so inevitably, it went to a draw.  Check out our Metamoris 5 betting blog to see what we think of draws.

Here is the latest trailer for the event, which is tonight. Don’t miss the Metamoris 5 live stream:
