Niele Ivey, a former Notre Dame women’s associate head coach, joined the Memphis Grizzlies as the new assistant of coach Taylor Jenkins.

Ivey spent the last 12 years at her alma mater, Notre Dame, with the past four as the Fighting Irish’s associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. Ivey helped Notre Dame go 385-55 with seven Final Four appearances, six appearances in the NCAA championship game and the 2018 national title. She also played in two Final Fours with the Fighting Irish, including winning the 2001 national title. Ivey played for five years in the WNBA before going to Xavier in 2005 to start her career as an administrative assistant.
Notre Dame congratulated Ivey on Twitter, stating that the Memphis Grizzlies hired a good one.

The Memphis Grizzlies didn’t stop with Ivey as they also announced the hiring of Brad Jones, David McClure, James “Scoonie” Penn, Vitaly Potapenko, and Neven Spahija. They also named Jason March head coach of their G League team.
