As Week 3 of the NFL season begins tonight, it’s time for another episode of The Gronkcast. Chris and Glenn Gronkowski are back for Episode 7 to give you their Bulletproof Picks of the Week, which also include their five selections for the BetDSI Cappers Cup Contest.
They also chat about Josh Gordon prop bets at BetDSI, and Glenn seems to have an inside track on the embattled wide receiver’s involvement, considering he played under Bill Belichick in 2017.
The football betting information is great, but this week is a special episode as the boys are joined by WWE superstar Mojo Rawley. The trio chats about football, wrestling, partying and more in this exclusive Get More Sports interview.
Rawley is a fascinating story as he started his career as a walk-on defensive lineman at the University of Maryland. Of course, Maryland has been in the news these days for a lot of off-field issues after an offensive lineman passed away during the offseason. They’ve been a program in shambles in recent years, but they were far more stable when Rawley was there during the Ralph Friedgen era.
Although Rawley started his Terrapins career as a walk-on, he eventually became a full scholarship player. He still holds school records for the bench press, 40-yard dash (for a defensive lineman) and vertical jump (for a defensive lineman).

“As a walk-on, coming in as a guy who had to pay for school and was given nothing, you had to find a way to stand out,” Rawley said on The Gronkcast.
He had a cup of coffee with the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals at the professional level, but an injury eventually ended his football playing days.
“One day, I was going for a sprint and I heard a pop. It just felt like I got hit in the back of the leg with a basketball,” said Rawley. “My calf ended up tearing off completely.”
He’d end up spending the next 18 months rehabbing, and then he pivoted to wrestling. He joined the developmental territory WWE NXT and started to shine at that point. But he still needed a character and it wasn’t until Dan Gronkowski’s bachelor party in Las Vegas that his charisma was born.
“The weekend in Vegas – Dan’s bachelor party – is when the Mojo was born,” said Rawley. “In college and football, I didn’t go out and party. I lived in the gym and studied all day. But that was the weekend that I could cut loose.” It wasn’t until a St. Patrick’s Day pool party where the famous “Stay Hyped” line was coined.
The podcast is an entertaining listen from Rawley’s journey from football to the NFL, his Vegas and St. Patrick’s Day partying and his tenure in the WWE.
So what’s next for Mojo as his career continues to ascend?
“We’re really just scratching the surface with what you’ve seen from me in the WWE,” said Rawley.
Rawley hints about the possibility of forming a tag team with Rob Gronkowski, which some fans have been hoping for. You’ll have to listen to find out more, including Rawley’s WWE Heavyweight Title prediction for 2019.
Tune in to hear the Gronk brothers lead the way through it all, including a recap of last week’s Bulletproof Picks as well as selections for this week. And this week’s picks even include a special prop bet available at BetDSI Sportsbook that focuses on Josh Gordon, who was just traded to the New England Patriots this week. As usual, you can listen to The Gronkcast only at GetMoreSports.com.
