The Italian Serie A continues this midweek with the Round 33 games, as the opening clash between Inter and Cagliari is set for Tuesday, April 17th, 2018, while all other nine tilts are scheduled for Wednesday, April 18th, 2018. Among these nine encounters, there are some quite intriguing matches and hot streaks, including a big game between Fiorentina and Lazio at Stadio Artemio Franchi, so let’s see which are teams you should look after in this round.
SERIE A HOT STREAKS
- Udinese lost nine games in a row
- Fiorentina is unbeaten for eight games in a row
- Lazio is undefeated in five consecutive matches
- Bologna‘s seven straight games had less than three goals in the total
- SPAL drew five times in a row
- Chievo lost nine straight games on the road
NAPOLI vs. UDINESE
3-Way: 1: Napoli -590; X: +650 Draw; 2: Udinese +1660 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -2: Napoli -115; Udinese +100
Total +3: Over -125; Under +105
Udinese is on a nine-game losing streak, and after this terrible run, their Serie A status is in jeopardy, as Udinese is just six points above the relegation zone with 18 points left in play. They need to bounce back as soon as possible if they want to avoid the close battle against the relegation in further weeks, but a positive result against Napoli on the road seems almost like an impossible mission for the Little Zebras. Interestingly, Udinese conceded exactly two goals in each of their nine straight losses, while they managed to score on four occasions.
Napoli is a massive favorite to win this match, and the victory is a must for the Little Donkeys if they want to stay in the race with the leader Juventus, particularly after a nil-nil draw against AC Milan in the previous round. Hereof, Udinese’s fans could easily continue with their agony, but their beloved club should show some dignity and find the back of the net at least once, although the bookies favor the flawless victory by the hosts.
MY PICK: Both Teams to Score YES (+135)
ADDITIONAL PICK: Napoli AH -2 (-115)
FIORENTINA vs. LAZIO
3-Way: 1: Fiorentina +185; X: +240 Draw; 2: Lazio +150 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread 0: Fiorentina +105; Lazio -120
Total +2.5: Over -120; Under +100
Fiorentina is playing exceptionally well at the moment, while they are unbeaten in eight consecutive Serie A games, recording six wins and two stalemates in the process with an 11:2 goal difference and their net is intact for four matches in a row. Viola is currently in the seventh spot of the Serie A table that should lead to the UEFA Europa League next season, two points ahead of the closest rival, so Stefano Pioli’s boys need to continue with good performance.
On the other side, Lazio is fighting for the UEFA Champions League place, and the Eagles are currently sitting at the fourth spot of the Serie A table with one point more on the account than Inter in the fifth spot, so they cannot afford to lose this match. They are undefeated in five straight games, recording two wins and three draws in the process, while in 16 away matches so far the Eagles have bagged 37 goals, and 15 out of these 16 encounters had at least three goals in the total. The fans should see a great game, while the bookies favor both teams to find the net at -155.
MY PICK: Draw (+240)
SAMPDORIA vs. BOLOGNA
3-Way: 1: Sampdoria -115; X: +265 Draw; 2: Bologna +325 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -0.5: Sampdoria -110; Bologna +100
Total +2.5: Over -120; Under +100
While Bologna is safe and sound at the 11th spot of the Serie A table without a chance for the European football next season, Sampdoria is still battling for the seventh spot as they are five points away from AC Milan, so the bookies favor the hosts to win this clash for a reason. On the other hand, Bologna’s previous seven games had less than three goals in the total, while 17 out of their 32 encounters this season had at least three goals on the scoreboard, and maybe it is time for some goals when the Greyhounds meet Sampdoria at Stadio Luigi Ferraris this Wednesday.
Bologna won 3-0 their first head-to-head meeting of the season, and three out of their previous five H2H duels had at least three goals in the total, so I’m backing the over in this one.
MY PICK: Over 2.5 Goals (-120)
SPAL vs. CHIEVO
3-Way: 1: SPAL +120; X: +215 Draw; 2: Chievo +275 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -0.5: SPAL +115; Chievo -135
Total +2: Over -125; Under +105
Both SPAL and Chievo are battling against the relegation, so this clash could be decisive for both sides. SPAL is unbeaten for seven games in a row, while five draws in a row are certainly a specific record, but the White-Blues need a victory here if they want to overtake Chievo at the Serie A table. The situation is pretty messy at the bottom of the Serie A, and SPAL is currently in the 17th spot, two points behind Chievo in the 16th spot, and just one point above the relegation zone.
This is a tricky game to lay your bet on, but I will try with another draw, while on the other side, the visitors will look to put an end on their horrible nine-game losing streak away from home. So, I’m going with a streak extension and a streak end at the same time.
MY PICK: Draw (+215)
