Some teams are on the heavy run in the Spanish La Liga, and there are few quite interesting games to bet on this midweek with only six rounds left to be played. From Tuesday, April 17th, 2018, until Thursday, April 19th, we chose three tilts that offer some intriguing picks, so let’s see what can we expect from those matches, and which are teams to look after.
LA LIGA HOT STREAKS
- Sevilla is winless for five games in a row
- Betis won five straight games
- Las Palmas is winless for ten games in a row
- Espanyol is goalless in four consecutive matches
- Eibar is without a win for six games in a row
DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA vs. SEVILLA
3-Way: 1: Deportivo La Coruna +150; X: +240 Draw; 2: Sevilla +175 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread 0: Deportivo La Coruna -115; Sevilla +105
Total +2.5: Over -135; Under +110
Sevilla is playing in a poor form, earning just two points out of the last five La Liga rounds, so they’ve dropped to the seventh spot of the La Liga table. It looks like the European qualification for the next season could be in jeopardy, while their next fixture is a bit tricky. After two cracking 3-2 victories over Athletic Bilbao and Malaga, Deportivo La Coruna is on the last train to survive in the league, five points behind Levante in the 17th spot with 18 points left in play, so the clash against Sevilla is like a big finale for Depor.
The 30-year old striker Adrian Lopez bagged a couple of braces against Malaga and Athletic Bilbao, and Depor’s attacking flow looked pretty sharp, while the bookies favor both teams to find the net in this game, as the market is set at -170. Sevilla conceded 32 goals in 16 La Liga matches away from home, showing some awful defensive displays, but on the other side, they managed to score in each but one out of their last five away games. Hereof, it seems more reasonable to bet on goals here rather than go with Sevilla, while they are still without a draw in those 16 away games, recording six wins and ten losses in the process.
MY PICK: Over 2.5 Goals (-135)
BETIS vs. LAS PALMAS
3-Way: 1: Betis -270; X: +435 Draw; 2: Las Palmas +690 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -1.5: Betis +100; Las Palmas -115
Total +3.5: Over +110; Under -140
Betis is playing in an excellent form winning five games in a row with a 10:1 goal difference, while their net is intact in four straight matches. After this great streak, the Big Greens are sitting at the fifth spot of the Spanish La Liga with four points lead ahead of the closest rival, and it looks like they could reach the UEFA Europa League after a four-year drought. On the other side, Las Palmas is on the verge after ten straight games without a win, as they are sitting deep in a relegation mire, ten points behind Levante in the safe 17th spot, so this clash is literally their last chance.
However, Las Palmas already looks like a second-tier team, and this is a perfect opportunity for Betis to earn the sixth straight victory and cement their position, while the fans can expect to see some goals as the visitors will have to push forward. Likewise, 13 out of 32 Betis’ La Liga games had at least for goals in the total, but their previous four tilts had less than four goals on the scoreboard. In their first head-to-head duel earlier in the season Betis was beaten 1-0, so it could be the additional motive for the Big Greens to get a win here.
MY PICK: Betis AH -1.5 (+100)
ADDITIONAL PICK: Over 3.5 Goals (+110)
ESPANYOL vs. EIBAR
3-Way: 1: Espanyol +145; X: +210 Draw; 2: Eibar +225 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread 0: Espanyol -150; Eibar +130
Total +2: Over -115; Under +100
Espanyol’s offense is terrible this season, scoring only 26 goals in 32 games so far, while they couldn’t find the back of the net in the previous four matches, recording one draw and three losses in the process. At the moment, Espanyol is in the 16th spot of the La Liga table, ten points above the relegation zone, so they need a couple of wins to secure their status, and the match against Eibar is a nice opportunity to get three points in front of the home fans. However, they will have to somehow break the deadlock.
On the other side, Eibar is on a horrible run, recording two draws and four losses in the previous six rounds, and the clash against Espanyol is the last chance to continue their bid for the UEFA Europa League. The Gunsmiths have some injury problems in their frontline, but they need to attack in this game and try to break their winless streak. Hereof, the fans could easily see some goals on both sides of the field, while the market is a tempting one.
MY PICK: Both Teams to Score YES (+105)
