The transfer market continues to be the big story in college football. Coaches are preparing for the start of the season, and without summer practices or conference media days to hold our attention, transfers have dominated the news. Illinois has been one of the leaders in this regard, and they recently added another transfer. There are still some big names available though, particularly when it comes to quarterbacks.

Former Michigan Wolverines quarterback Brandon Peters announced that he was the latest person to transfer to the University of Illinois last night. Peters entered the transfer portal last month, and as a graduate transfer that has already earned a degree, he will be immediately eligible to play in Champaign. He only threw two passes last season, but he saw action in six games in 2017 and will contend for the starting job.

Peters is now off this list, but there are still some potential starting quarterbacks this fall that have yet to make a move to a new school. Kasim Hill is the player with the most potential on the list as the former Maryland Terrapins quarterback was an excellent dual-threat option, but he is coming off an ACL injury. Auburn junior Malik Willis could be a nice grab for a team too after falling out of favor with Gus Malzahn.

The NFL and NCAA are combining forces to try to make football safer for players in the near future. Player safety has grown in importance as a major issue over the last decade, and the two monoliths are hoping to implement some changes together.

Zach Wilson looked like the quarterback of the future for BYU after taking over as the starter in the middle of the season, and the Cougars are hoping for big things from him in 2019. He recently underwent offseason shoulder surgery, but he should be ready by the middle of the season.
