Invicta FC 16 Odds For Friday’s all-Women’s MMA Action

Invicta FC 16 Odds

Invicta FC 16 Odds – The all-women’s MMA promotion Invicta FC is in Las Vegas this Friday night, March 11th with a nine fight card that sees seven of the fights getting last minute attention at the sport books.

Invicta FC has been working with the UFC to provide talent, and this as well a previous broadcasts are available on the UFC’s fight pass. The event is headlined by Japan’s Ayaka Hamasaki, the 12-1 Atomweight champion, as she faces the challenge of Amber Brown. Brown is 6-1 overall and she is coming off two straight first round submission wins.

The co-feature fight will see Jennifer Maia taking on Vanessa Porto, in A Brazil vs Brazil match-up of two very experienced fighters. Both women are carrying three-fight win streaks in to the match, and the righter who comes away with a fourth win in a row, could be UFC-bound. This bout is a re-match of an October 2011 meeting that was held in Brazil, which saw Porto win by stoppage in the second round.

One fighter who may be UFC bound in the short term is DeAnna Bennett who faces veteran Roxanne Modaferri. Bennett went 8-0 to start her career before experiencing a loss in her last outing, in January of this year at Invicta 15. Modaferri is 18-12 overall, but she is still one of the most fun fighters to watch in all the women’s ranks. The lanky New Englander has been a professional fighter for more than a dozen years and she spent years in Japan honing her craft. Bennett needs to get back on the winning track and avoid a second loss in a row.

Former atomweight champion Herica Tiburcio is on the card as she attempts to get back in the title picture. She won the belt with a strong win over Michelle Waterson, only to see her vanquished opponent get the UFC call anyway. Unfortunately for Tiburcio, she ran into Ayaka Hamasaki last July at the Invicta 13 event to drop the belt and snap a nice four fight winning streak.

Also on the card in an underdog position is UFC veteran Jessamyne Duke. Duke made a name for herself runnig with Ronda Rousey in the early days of women’s UFC as part of the “Four Horsewomen” click that also included Shanya Bazsler. Well, a three fight losing streak left Duke outside the UFC. ALdana is 5-2 overall.

Invicta FC 16 Odds

For perspective, the Invicta FC 16 card is getting more fights looked at by the sport books than Bellator, KSW or World Series of Fighting. The bookies appear to have stayed away from the over/under for the ladies MMA, but perhaps those will pop up closer to fight time.

One interesting fact is that the card has a very competitive set of lines, especially for an MMA show.  Odds as of now appear below.

Amber Brown +160
Ayaka Hamasaki -210

Flyweight 5 rounds –
Jennifer Maia +135

DeAnna Bennett -245
