Zac Brown Band had a little extra security on hand for their concert in Milwaukee, Wisc. over the weekend. J.J. Watt, who’s visiting his hometown before returning to Texas for training camp this summer and a starring role on HBO’s Hard Knocks, helped the band out as their unofficial body guard.
When a fan rushed the stage to dance with the band, Watt charged out and tackled the poor, unsuspecting interloper to the stage before escorting him off. Watt published a video of the event on his twitter page today.
You’ll probably see this on the show.

There’s probably no chance this wasn’t staged just to get a rise out of the crowd, but Watt went through the effort to do it and the poor schlub he tackled definitely took the hit, regardless of how loving and gentle Watt tried to be as he laid him out on the stage. The fact that the kid was able to walk away is all the proof you need this was fake. A full-speed Watt tackle on a guy like that would have left only a fine red mist in the air.
NFL teams can open their training camps on July 15. HBO’s Hard Knocks premiers Aug. 11.
