Certainly a few NFL teams could use the services of Jacksonville Jaguars’ cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Undeniably when saying ‘a few’, I mean every single one of them.
Therefore, when the Jacksonville Jaguars made it known on Wednesday night that Ramsey is not going to be traded; they probably frowned. Then again, we know how NFL general managers area. Indeed, this probably only made them willing to up the ante.
Despite Jalen Ramsey's request for a trade, the Jaguars intend to keep Ramsey in Jacksonville. https://t.co/2024DJRl4z

Indeed, if that is the game plan of Jaguars’ owner Shad Khan; time will tell if it pays off. Still, Khan is sitting with a good poker face and even better hand at the big table. Right now, he doesn’t need to trade Ramsey.
The Associated Press has this one on lock. That is, Khan letting everyone know that the superstar cornerback is staying in Jacksonville.
“Obviously, football is a team sport and I’m sensitive to what individual insight or viewpoint or requests [there] might be,” Khan said. “But we have to do the right thing for the team. We value the values Jalen adds to us, to the Jaguars. I think we value him highly. We’re still looking at what is the right thing for the Jaguars, and I think right now the best thing is to have him be part of the team.”
Moreover, Khan seems relaxed and resigned to just take a breath and let this situation work itself out.
“I’ve met with him,” Khan said. “I think my relationship with him is pretty good. This is not a request from me or a viewpoint from me. I have no issue, obviously. I’d love for him to be part of the Jaguars.”
Furthermore, the 2-2 Jaguars play the 2-2 Carolina Panthers this coming Sunday. It seems like Khan wants to wait and see if stringing a few wins together will work this situation out. Sometimes, it seems like these situations happen in the NFL only to dissipate quietly.
Surely, Jacksonville could use more guys like Ramsey. And the same could be said for any team in the NFL. Ramsey is widely-regarded as a modern day Deion Sanders type of lockdown cornerback. If a team is one player away – if such a thing exists – he’s the type of guy who puts that team over the top.
