One of the big stories last offseason was the saga of Le’Veon Bell. Bell refused to sign his tender after being franchised by the Pittsburgh Steelers for the second straight season, and he sat out all of last year in order to sign a long-term deal. In March, he signed a four-year deal that guaranteed him at least $35 million, but the Jets have already been rumored to be interested in moving him.
.@JohnClaytonNFL on Le'Veon Bell: "If there's a suitor, I could absolutely see the Jets trading him before the start of the season."

Now that Adam Gase seems to be in control of the Jets’ personnel decisions, there has been talk of trading the team’s biggest offseason signing. Gase has stated that he didn’t think the team should have signed either Bell or CJ Mosley to such big contracts, but it’s really hard to see Bell being traded after the team has already shelled out an $8 million signing bonus.

Houston has parted ways with veteran tight end Ryan Griffin after six years. Griffin was arrested while the NFL Draft was taking place in Nashville last month shortly after the Texans selected tight end Kahale Warring out of San Diego State in the third round. It looked like Griffin saw the writing on the wall at the time, and now that has come to fruition.

The Jets are in the news for another reason too. Reportedly, they are looking to follow in the footsteps of the Denver Broncos and make one of the game’s greatest quarterbacks their general manager. It seems unlikely that Peyton Manning would be interested in being a GM considering he is making a lot of money as a spokesperson for a lot of companies, but it doesn’t hurt to try.
