While stepping into the Octagon against a former champion who has beaten the likes of Donald Cerrone, Frankie Edgar, and Gilbert Melendez (to name a few) might justify Masvidal as a +210 underdog, there are some very key reasons why he should not be overlooked. On paper, he doesn’t have the credentials that Benson Henderson does, but Masvidal is a technical marvel who might just be on the verge of becoming one of the 170 lb division’s best fighters.
