After just three games of the current season, Scott Frost was fired as the head coach of Nebraska

Georgia Southern defeated the Cornhuskers 45–42, and some fans yelled “fire Frost” at the conclusion of the game. With a 16-31 record and a.340 winning percentage, Frost leaves the team in second-worst shape among Nebraska coaches who held their positions for more than four years. Frost, who leaves the team with a 1-2 record in the next season, was under pressure from the start of his fifth season as manager.

Alberts made the following statement, which was shared on the team’s social media pages: “I spoke with Coach Frost earlier today to let him know we were immediately changing the football program’s management. I came to the conclusion that changing our head coach was the wisest course of action for our program after the season’s poor start. For the remaining 2022 season, our temporary head coach will be Associate Head Coach Mickey Joseph.” Prior to Nebraska, Frost worked at UCF.
